It's been amazing to hear this text read by Jodie Foster herself. This story has a lot in it, and I find it no less relevant today.

Je vous le conseille, même si vous avez déjà vu le film car il explique bien mieux la genèse mathématique et physique ... et contient une vraie fin (quelle bonne surprise)! Un vrai bonheur !
De plus, Ellie est vraiment une femme forte et passionnée, ce qui n’était pas vraiment le cas dans le film... d’où ma nette préférence pour le livre audio.

I have loved the movie since I first saw it as a teenager. I didn’t think I even knew it came from a book until much later. However, even then, I assumed that it wouldn’t be much different than the movie. And I was wrong—happily! The book has a much more thorough and compelling story and the interaction with the caretakers is much more satisfying. Also, the performance by Jodie Foster is flawless. This is going to go in my favorites, to re-listen and enjoy again and again.
