    Description

"They crossed him. He killed them.... in the name of justice."

From Robert Hanlon, the best-selling author of Texas Bounty Hunter, Bounty for the Preacher, and Clint Cain: The Texan Avenger comes his latest best-selling Western...The Texan Avenger Returns.

Vengeance, repentance, and justice come in many forms. For Clint Cain, it comes in the form of his gun - a gun he knows how to use better than almost anyone else.

Seeking the life and family he lost, Clint Cain goes in search of a home and new life, only to find that it won't be that simple. Despite a new town and new people in his life, he must deal with a greedy land baron who is entwined in the very fabric of the community and above reproach.

As the tension mounts between Clint and the land baron, Clint finds a woman he thinks he could love. Problem is...she wants nothing to do with him. Though he wants to hang up his guns, he quickly realizes he has no choice but to continue living the way of the gun in order to protect the woman he loves and overcome the greed out to destroy both their lives.

    Gripping

This is the last book of the Clint Cain trilogy. This book picks up where the last one left off. On his way back to Texas, Clint decides to stop by his old home. He sees both his grandfather and father’s ranches in rotten decay. He then starts to head to the Texas ranch and changes his mind, which is also in ruins or owned by someone else. He decides to start a new life and heads west. As he stops in a town he sees men pushing a woman around so he comes to her aid. He talks to the store keeper and learns the women is a widow that has a ranch and is building an oil field. He also learns someone is trying to buy her out or run her off the ranch. Needless to say, Clint hires on to be her foreman. This story takes a bit of a twist at this point and goes into the early days of oil drilling. There is information about drilling, storage and moving of oil in the early days. I found this quite interesting. Otherwise, the story is a typical old fashion western. The ending of the book is great.

I enjoyed this trilogy and will look for more western books by Robert Hanlon. The book was just over three hours long. Lawrence D. Palmer did a good job narrating the book.
