When Haze Evans first appeared in the small-town newspaper, she earned fans by writing a story about her bachelor uncle who brought a Queen of the Rodeo to Thanksgiving dinner.     If a good book makes you feel things, both laugh and cry: then this is undoubtedly a good book! Perhaps it’s also because I feel myself like a chronicler: loving to know people’s stories and equally loving to share my own insights and epiphanies on life. This made me realise how much a newspapercolumn chronicle is/was the equivalent of nowadays blogs. Also as I’m in my middle age, the archetype of the old crone who speaks her mind without caring one bit about other’s opinions and criticisms greatly appeals to me! Too long were women taught to be tame so more such fierce characters please!

    Haven’t finished it yet but love it so much: must review it!
