He ran a successful yacht delivery business between Miami and Cartagena from 1974 to 1984 avoiding many potentially deadly encounters and learning to blend in with a very dangerous and unpredictable drug smuggling culture. A ballsy and fearless attitude with a big dose of luck, carried Ventura unscathed through those dangerous waters and allowed him to live to tell the story.
