À propos de ce contenu audio

American expatriate Sidney Webb and Sister Margaret, his British colleague, work tirelessly to rehabilitate Cambodian children from the nightmare of prostitution.

After a surprise raid on a brothel, an eager young U.S. lawyer places three liberated orphans under Sidney and the Sister's care. The girls begin the inspirational process of recovery under the loving watch of their new protectors.

An excitingly original script by an emerging American playwright.

Avis de l'équipe

Listeners who experience this startling, powerful play as presented by L.A. Theatre Works and performed by actors Gregory Itzin, Jenny O'Hara, and a tremendous supporting cast will be shaken to the core. Playwright Julie Marie Myatt has woven a compelling story of an American expatriate and a British nun who work to rescue and rehabilitate Cambodian children from the nightmare of prostitution. The vocal performances are dramatic and strong throughout, although Jenny O'Hara's British accent is neither powerful nor consistent. Nevertheless, this ranks as one of LATW's best offerings, not only for the quality of the audio presentation and the clever use of music but also for the sheer force of this undeniably distressing play.
