    Description

In this lucid classic, beloved teacher Ayya Khema introduces the listener to the essence of the Buddhist path. She addresses the how and why of meditation, providing a clear framework for understanding the nature of karma and rebirth and the entirety of the eightfold path. With specific, practical advice, Ayya Khema illuminates the practices of compassion and sympathetic joy, and offers forthright guidance in working with the hindrances that we all encounter in meditation. Few introductory books are both simple and profound. Being Nobody, Going Nowhere is both.

    Rich and warm

This is a book of not just one time. You really have to make it yours by listening to it again and again. It is a book that can follow you and you can pick different extracts during your day. The way that Ayya Khema speaks and writes it so clear and simple that goes right into your heart. Thank you (L)

The only book you will ever need.

This is a straightforward book that gets to the very heart of the meaning of Dharma and why we should practice. You will not find a better more straight talking teacher. Listen and put the teachings into practice and you will find that these are not just empty words.

    Ayya Khema's book

Ayya Khama is a brilliant writer. Most books about Buddhism are difficult for the lay person ,or someone new to Buddhism, to understand. Her way if speaking is clear, concise and interesting. I hope all of her books are soon translated into English.
    Thank you.

A “manual” to live a wholesome life

No wonder this book won an award for teaching Buddhism to beginners. This book is not about the religion though, but about our power to choose wisely to love and live and give in this precious life we have been given.

    Ayya Khema Writes A Classic

This is a very, very, very, good audiobook. It's a must have for any Buddhist, religious, or philosophical library. She clarifies and elucidates some of the most important Buddhist concepts and truths. She says wrote this: The Buddha said, “Whoever sees me, sees Dhamma. Whoever sees Dhamma, sees me.” At this time in the history of humanity, we have no chance of seeing a live Buddha, but it’s not necessary because “Whoever sees Dhamma, sees me.” If you can see the Dhamma in your own heart, you can see the Buddha. Buddha means nothing but enlightenment. It means the awakened one. Once you see Dhamma in your own heart, that is what you will see and that is what you want, isn’t it? Seeing the live Buddha. He is as near to you as your own heart. He couldn’t be any nearer. You don’t have to go anywhere to find him. You don’t have to do anything special to find it. You just have to be mindful and change the unwholesome to the wholesome. Isn’t that simple? But because it is so simple it doesn’t mean that it is easy. It’s hard work, but it’s the kind of work that brings the greatest profit.
I couldn't agree more. Now, you know what you can be. It's up to you. Be well, happy and peaceful.

    Mindfulness living laid out

As a Vipassana mediator I love this book as it lays out the mindfulness way of living like a handbook. It guides you in how to handle every subject according to the Buddhas pure and simple teaching from a long time ago, it even guides you on how to stay on the daily path of meditation 2x a day as my Vipassana teacher also had advised us.
