The story is original and the writer has a very unique way of describing emotions and situations. I think that she documented the historical aspects of the viking time in depth. I liked this book which plunge people in viking times but the author made several voluntary shortcuts in the description of events that made sometimes understanding difficult. For example the accident with fire was not easy to understand. Moreover, I think that the story was one-sided which was a little bit frustrating. Every moment is described from the heroine' s point of view and the only clue one's have of the male thoughts are perceived through the eyes of the heroine.

She has a very cerebral perception of her environment so all events are described with a very analytical view and sometimes the listener get a little bit confused between what she dreams and what she really lives.

However, all in all I recommend this audiobook
