In "Around the World in 800 Days,” I recount how my dream to circumnavigate the globe began stirring during a dark period of my life and then years later blossomed into a reality that was transformative. Aboard my 46’ sailboat, Liberté, my husband and I sail through four continents and 23 island territories, traversing the vast expanse of the Pacific, battling fierce storms and mechanical failures, and exploring remote islands steeped in history and culture: from the magic of the Galapagos to the remote shores of French Polynesia, to the dynamic East Coast of Australia and the bustling ports of South Africa. But this voyage is not just about conquering the elements and honing sailing skills — it's about confronting personal demons and finding strength in the face of adversity.

From overcoming physical injury to grappling with the existential questions of life's purpose, I delve into the inner journey that parallels the physical voyage, revealing the transformative power of following your dreams and believing in yourself.
