Keith Hummel

Keith has been a flight surgeon, an emergency medicine physician, and has pursued graduate work in Ancient History and Classical Studies. In his free time, he has flown helicopters, driven tanks, competed on the Rally America circuit, completed an MFA in Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University and a graduate program in Copy and Developmental Editing at the University of Chicago. Keith authors the blog doctorfiction.substack.com where he assists writers in the use of medical and trauma situations in their fiction endeavors.

His debut novel, Immortal Red, is crafted to combine Michael Crichton's scientific "slight suspension of disbelief," Graham Greene's erudite treatment of intelligence operations, and the simplicity of Ian Fleming's early Bond novels.

Keith is currently the medical director for a major defense contractor and lives on a hilltop farm in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley with his family and his beloved Airedale, Henry.
