War's Edge: Berserkers

In war, there is no second place. To ensure victory, planetary governments employ private armies to help fight their battles. And the Berserkers are the best. As the galaxy's preeminent mercenary force, they are hired by governments and corporations to do jobs that are too tough, too messy, or too deadly for their own forces. Expertly trained and equipped with the most advanced weaponry, they are willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill a contract - if the price is right.

Desol… Most Berserkers have never heard of the tiny planetoid, a barren and inhospitable wasteland on the edge of the outer rim. The platoon of tankers stationed there wished they'd never seen the place. Hostile miners resent the Berserkers' presence, and the bored troopers have nothing to do but drink and fight. Corporal Jake Murray is one of the best gravtank commanders in the Berserkers, but he's also an undisciplined, unrepentant troublemaker. Banished to Desol for insubordination, Murray finds himself surrounded by a host of similar malcontents and burnouts.

After spearheading the charge to end a bloody civil war on Boreas-4, the Berserkers of Anvil Company expect some rest. Their battle-scarred commander, Captain Ron Axel, knows better. Hard experience has taught him that victory only brings more battles. His instincts are confirmed when Lieutenant Colonel Tory Jamison, a ghost from his past, orders Anvil to the sharp end once more, tasked with delivering the final blow to the Karakan Defense Forces. Thrust into the unexpected role of regimental commander, Jamison shoulders the weight of the campaign's success

In the distant future, mechanized warfare has evolved to its ultimate form, gravtanks: high-speed, fusion-powered, gravity-effect vehicles equipped with the latest in high-tech sensors, plasteel armor, and deadly weaponry to dominate the battlefield.

Captain Brian Case leads a company of fresh recruits on a mission to deliver crucial supplies and equipment to an embattled Berserker battalion. Expecting to be disbanded upon arrival, he and his untested troops instead embark on a perilous raid deep behind enemy lines. Amidst a battlefield teeming with advanced weaponry and rival mercenary units, Case is thrust into a brutal war that devours both men and machines. The planet's wealth and natural resources also attract a different kind of adversary—arms dealers exploiting both sides for profit.

Consigned to a frozen hell… Released early from a triple-max military prison, Berserker Lieutenant Allison Rave is given a second chance at a mercenary career. Ordered to the remote, ice-covered world of Lucent-2, she is assigned as a grav-tank platoon commander in Task Force Metal, a crack...

The Berserkers forged him into a weapon. They've regretted it ever since. When Jack Ames fled the choking sprawl of his dystopian homeworld, he never meant to crash-land in the Berserker Corps—the galaxy's deadliest mercenary outfit. But he found a new home. Strapped into a 135-ton gravtank or...
