Marvin toiled through endless work to achieve his dream of flipping properties. A strange man stalked him at his morning diner job, becoming a regular. When he unexpectedly follows him home from night shift, Marvin knows something isn't right. The next day he is offered a magical device. The emblem confirms the paranormal are real, people can partially shift into animals, and that Marvin isn't normal: he's something to be feared. When he follows him home from his night shift, Marvin knows something isn't right. The next day, he is offered a magical device. The emblem confirms that the paranormal is real, that people can partially shift into animals, and that Marvin isn't normal. As his life enters a whirlwind adventure, Marvin has to adapt to becoming something more than he ever imagines: an Apex Shifter.

Exiled to another world, Marvin has carved out a place on it for himself and his mates. A visit from an otherworldly being puts his new and old planet in jeopardy. Marvin must use his connections and abilities to prevent his world from being consumed.

The fate of the his pride hangs in the balance. Forces try to tear him down while Marvin rages to protect those he cares dearly about. Secret societies, indifferent royalty, and the government that exiled him hamper his every move. With his capable and deadly mates standing firm with him against them and the alien threat, Marvin, as the Apex Shifter, will teach them all why the lion is the king of the jungle.
