Pets and Pastries Mystery

Fans of Nancy Coco's celebrated Candy-Coated Mystery series first met Rowan Giles as a murder suspect and owner of Finn, a stunning lavender Great Dane, in Some Like It Fudgy. Now the pastry-chef-slash-pet-photographer shows she has what it takes to be a first-rate amateur crime solver as the star of a new series . . .

After honing her baking skills at a New York patisserie, Rowan is back in her hometown of Charlevoix, Michigan, not far from historic Mackinac Island. Living with her boisterous extended family is a temporary step while she looks for the sweet job of her dreams. When her grandmother calls from her retirement home and asks her to make something special she can serve her friends, Rowan has no idea it's a set-up—until she finds out Gramma Brid has secretly entered her in a pastry contest.

The prize-winner will land a chance to earn some dough at chef Jeremy Brandt's new pop-up supper club. Rowan is confident her Polish cake will win—only to find herself upstaged by an unpleasant competitor with an unsavory past. Looks like the fix is in. When she confronts Jeremy, sparks fly—but a bigger shock comes when Finn's canine instincts lead them to a dead body among the rose bushes.

If they don't work together to find the killer, the case—and their careers—could collapse faster than an underbaked soufflé . . .
