A year has passed since the American Forces quarantined the primeval valley, and a new Special Forces team known as Stalker Force has been created to track the most dangerous dinosaurs of all time—the utahraptors—and destroy them. The mission proves to be more than the fledgling team can handle when they come face to face with mysterious new predators, clandestine para-military operatives, and a cunning alpha male utahraptor known as Sobek; the nihil river god.

From the depths of the Dark Realm, the Shadow King rises. A dark wizard unleashes horrors unlike anything the world has ever seen. A waking nightmare devours the land. Smoke and screams choke the sky. Abominations born from the twisted flesh of friends, neighbors, and loved ones stalk the streets. In the ruins, a handful of survivors take refuge in a tavern sealed by a failing magical barrier. But safety is an illusion. Each night, the corruption creeps closer. Every shadow conceals a new nightmare. Every heartbeat borrowed time.

During the most turbulent years of the Cold War, the elite dinosaur-hunters of Stalker Force are tasked with finding and killing a horrific plague-carrying utahraptor known as Xipetotec. Their search for Xipetotec takes them across the earth, from the battlefields of Vietnam to the dark heart of Africa. This odyssey is intertwined with the spiritual decay of a young Vietnamese mercenary known as 'the Panther'. As dinosaurs spread across the world, people from all walks of life must learn to survive... the Primitive War.
