A theory of change is a planning, participation, and evaluation process that companies, philanthropists, nonprofits, governments, and groups go through to promote social change. The term theory of change was coined by Peter Drucker in his 1954 book, The Practice of Management. He defined it as a form of management by objectives whereby organizations identify and follow high and low order goals in order to meet their objectives. But what is a theory of change exactly? How has the term and practice evolved? And what are its major setbacks and limitations?

Max, a young boy who dreams of going "where no one would bother him," wants to travel to the moon. But how will he get there? The mayor wants Daisy to perform a marketing miracle on the town, and to increase the visitor numbers too. The town holds a special place in Daisy’s heart as something magical happened to her when she visited this place as a child. She’s determined to show the rest of the world how wonderful the town is, and will use all her marketing skills to do so.

One day Frances Darwin finds a bit of torn paper on the ground. This excites Frances, as she would love to be a detective. This bit of paper sends Frances on a "wild goose chase" that leads her to find a stray dog called Bouncer. Finding out about Bouncer leads her onto to find his owner, who becomes a big part of Frances’s life. Before Frances knows it, she has become involved in an investigation to find out who is dog-napping dogs in the local area.
