In a world beset with heinous acts that cripple both families and kingdoms alike, a curse of fear and disbelief keeps the people from preparing to do battle with the Sorcerer's amassing hordes. As fate would have it, a woman who had her childhood ripped away and replaced with suffering unimaginable is the very one who can dispel the debilitating enchantment, that is, if she can escape a troubling past that hounds her. Yet, the young woman, who many say will claim the Song of Breaking's magic as her own, cannot do this by herself.

Calling herself Selene, the Moon gains a daughter after she raises a young woman murdered on Moonbase Sophia from the dead. This begins an odyssey where the two discover powers they didn’t know they possessed, powers they need to do battle with dangerous shadow entities in league with the young woman’s murderers. At the same time, the mystery surrounding how the Moon gained consciousness is solved, and the nature of a war whose battlefield spans the stars is revealed.
