In 2012, after sharing a number of sea stories with my only grandson, I was told I needed to write a life journal to include my years as a child in the Philippine Islands just following World War II. The journal, which addressed a time from June 7, 1935 to December 28, 2013, includes the important events of my life, including my 27 years in the US Navy. As could be expected, there are more reflections from my years as a naval aviator, flying combat missions in Vietnam and numerous secret missions against the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

When I began writing this book, it was my intent to focus on the military men and women of our country. They are definitely heroes to all of us. In gathering stories, I found there are many ordinary people that are also heroes. This inspired me to expand my vision to include short stories from people of all ages and walks of life who have made a difference. This is the first book, and it starts a series of "Chit Chat Café" worldwide short stories.

This story is meant to reach out with a hand of hope to the 2.3 million people suffering from bipolar/manic depression and those close to them. It is an autobiographical account that takes the listener through the joys and sorrows of the author's life. For those dealing with depression or grieving the loss of a loved one, this audiobook guides you through it with honesty, courage, and faith. Gerry Bradley found his way back from the highs and lows to the "light at the end of the tunnel". He now lives a rewarding and fulfilling life, and you can too.
