When his family arrived in the United States without him after the Titanic's tragic crash, they were received well along with the other survivors and even sponsored by a wealthy New York heiress. Who was Joseph Laroche? Where was he going, and what was his story? This biography recounts the life of Joseph Laroche.

At the time of her first journey from Southampton to New York City, RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and died in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912. An overall of 2,224 guests and team were reported to have been on board when the ship sank, making it one of the absolute worst single ship catastrophes and the absolute worst peacetime superliner or cruise liner sinking to date. As a result of the general public's interest in the aftermath, the mishap has acted as a structure for the category of catastrophe movies.

Two years before they faced each other in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Nationals - the modern-day U.S. Open - two men boarded the Titanic as strangers. This is the tale of the creation of both a legendary liner and a man who has devoted almost his entire life in preserving her memory for future generations.

Sixty-eight years after the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic, a young boy would learn about the lost liner while spending the day with his grandfather. This is the story of that day and the collection of memorabilia which would be amassed over the years, the unbreakable bond between a grandfather and grandson joined together by the interest in the "unsinkable" ship.

There is something romantic about traveling on a cruise ship, and even today luxury cruises are considered by many to be the ultimate vacation, featuring days of fun activities in exotic locations and nights of dinner and dancing under the stars. Today even the cheapest cabins are quite luxurious, and people save for years to afford to travel by sea. However, it was not always that way, and there was a time when travelling on even the most luxurious liners could prove dangerous or even deadly.

They were hallooing and the sailors were trying to keep them sitting down, and they would not do it. They were standing up all the time." (Daniel Buckley, a survivor of the Titanic)
