What if distraction has become more than an interruption and has actually become an addiction? In a world filled with phones, social media, entertainment, busyness, and constant noise, it's easy to reach for something to fill every quiet moment instead of using that time to draw closer to God. Could our constant need for distraction be keeping us from hearing His voice?

In this episode of eXchanging Eternal Truths, Heather Lancaster continues her conversation with Pastor Matt Andrews of Encounter Ministries and Linda and Jeff Salzman of Lion’s Heart Ministries. Together, they take a closer look at the addiction of distraction and how the things that consume our attention can interfere with our relationship with God. They discuss the importance of spending time with God from a place of relationship rather than obligation, recognizing when good things have become idols, renewing our minds, and returning to the simplicity of knowing Jesus. They also explore the growing desire for authenticity in the body of Christ and the importance of keeping Jesus at the center.

In this episode, you'll discover:

• How phones, social media, entertainment, and busyness can become distractions that compete for our attention and time with God

• Why spending time with God should flow from relationship and desire rather than obligation or simply checking off a spiritual task

• How to recognize when something that may be good has become an idol by taking a place in our lives that belongs to God

• Why renewing our minds is essential to recognizing unhealthy patterns and choosing what deserves our attention

• How returning to Jesus and pursuing authenticity can help believers move beyond distraction and into a deeper relationship with God

Distraction can become a pattern that keeps us from being present with God and attentive to what He is saying. When we constantly fill every quiet moment with something else, we may miss opportunities to hear His voice and experience His presence. God desires relationship with us, not simply a place on our schedule. As we become intentional about turning down the noise, renewing our minds, and putting Jesus first, we can break free from the addiction of distraction and make room for what matters most.

Key Scriptures:

• Matthew 6:33

• Romans 12:2

• John 10:27

• John 14:6

• John 12:32

• Ephesians 5:1-2

• Song of Solomon 2:15

Whether you’ve found yourself constantly reaching for your phone, filling every quiet moment with entertainment, or simply struggling to give God your undivided attention, this conversation with Pastor Matt Andrews and Linda and Jeff Salzman will challenge you to examine what has your attention and make room for what matters most.

Are we willing to let go of what is familiar so we can embrace what God is doing in this new season? What happens when we stop trying to create a move of God and instead learn to recognize and follow where He is already moving?

In this episode of eXchanging Eternal Truths, Heather Lancaster welcomes returning guests Pastor Matt Andrews of Encounter Ministries and Linda and Jeff Salzman of Lion's Heart Ministries to discuss the new season they believe God is bringing to the body of Christ. Together, they explore spiritual awakening, the importance of the secret place, discovering our identity as sons and daughters of God, moving beyond religious mindsets, and learning to encounter God in every circumstance. They also discuss the distractions and "static" that can keep us from hearing God's voice and the importance of returning to the simplicity of knowing Jesus.

In this episode, you'll discover:

• Why this new season requires believers to let go of the familiar and seek God's direction rather than trying to make God fit our plans

• How spending time in the secret place and studying God's Word prepares us for what God is doing and helps us hear His voice for ourselves

• Why understanding our identity as sons and daughters of God can free us from sin-consciousness, striving, and religious mindsets

• What it means to live in the freedom Jesus has already provided instead of continually carrying guilt, condemnation, fear, and regret

• How distractions, busyness, technology, and the constant "static" around us can interfere with our ability to hear the Holy Spirit and encounter God

Key Takeaway:

God is doing something new, and the answer is not to recreate what worked in the past. It is to return to the heart of our relationship with Him. As we spend time in the secret place, renew our minds, embrace our identity as His children, and surrender the burdens Jesus already carried to the cross, we become more sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is doing. Rather than being distracted by the noise around us, we can learn to encounter God in all things and follow where He leads.

Key Scriptures:

• Romans 12:2

• Ephesians 5:14

• 1 Peter 5:7

• Romans 8:38-39

• Romans 6:6-7

• 1 Corinthians 6:12

• 1 Corinthians 2:16

Whether you're sensing that God is doing something new, struggling to let go of old religious mindsets, or simply finding it difficult to hear God through the noise and distractions of everyday life, this conversation with Pastor Matt Andrews and Linda and Jeff Salzman will encourage you to return to the secret place, renew your mind, and pursue an authentic relationship with God.

How much can we truly understand about creation, the unseen world, and the eternal nature of God? What happened before Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden? And what can we learn when we are willing to look beyond what we have always been taught and simply ask, “What does the Bible say?”

In Part 2 of this eXchanging Eternal Truths conversation, Heather Lancaster continues her discussion with Dr. Larry Ollison, author of Hidden Mysteries and the Bible. Together, they explore some fascinating questions surrounding Lucifer, the angels, the possibility of civilizations before Adam, the meaning of Genesis 1:1-2, and the relationship between biblical truth and science. Dr. Ollison also challenges listeners to recognize the limitations of human understanding when considering the eternal nature of God, while emphasizing that Scripture remains our ultimate authority.

In this episode, you'll discover:

• What Scripture reveals about Lucifer, the angels, their purposes, and Lucifer's rebellion against God

• Why the Hebrew wording of Genesis 1:1-2 raises questions about the condition of the earth and God's perfect creation

• How questions about creation, science, and the age of the earth can be explored without allowing them to become salvation issues

• Why our finite minds cannot fully comprehend the eternal nature of God, including the mystery of what existed before creation

• Why Christians should be willing to examine what they believe, search the Scriptures for themselves, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead them into truth

There are mysteries in God's Word that may stretch our understanding, but we should never be afraid to ask questions or dig deeper into Scripture. We may not be able to comprehend everything about an infinite God, but we can know Him, trust His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal greater understanding. While questions about creation, the unseen world, and the mysteries of Scripture can be fascinating to explore, our ultimate focus must remain on Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life.

Key Scriptures:

• Genesis 1:1-2

• Isaiah 45:18

• Ephesians 5:1

• Hebrews 1:14

• John 8:31-32

• John 14:6

• 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Whether you've ever wondered what happened before Adam, have questions about creation and the unseen world, or simply want to become more willing to search the Scriptures for yourself, this conversation with Dr. Larry Ollison will encourage you to dig deeper into God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into greater understanding.
