  • Writeopolis S9 E7 - One Star Quiz!
    Dec 30 2025

The glorious One Star Quiz returns! This time starring the most independent of adjudicators Laura Mauro, the fabulous James Worrad and the 'counts as one person' Tiny Bookcase Ben and Nico!

Expect absolutely fair scoring, Ulysses, help/hindrance from the audience, egregious attempts at a Leeds accent, tapirs, facts about Tolkien that the hosts really should have known, and absolutely no cheating or betrayal whatsoever.

Well, maybe a little. What's a One Star Quiz without at least a little betrayal, after all!

  • Writeopolis S9 E1 - The Tiny Bookcase crossover
    Nov 4 2025

Season 9 kicks off with a glorious crossover with Ben and Nico from The Tiny Bookcase!

In this episode (which may have slightly exceeded the 1 hour timeslot):

    • RJ returns! Along with the clicky pen. And then goes on to explain how he nearly died. Don't worry, only nearly.

    • Ben manages to get the word 'banjanxed' into the show, which left the citizens suitably impressed.

    • Talk gets unexpectedly spicy

    • RJ and Scott fail to do the homework, which inevitably leads to Scott being fired

    • RJ fundamentally misunderstands the concept of 'moving on'

    • The Tiny Bookcase theme tune is seamlessly inserted into the edit and the differences between Writeopolis's and The Tiny Bookcase's editing processes are made abundantly clear

    • Eventually we reach The Tiny Bookcase portion of the episode and Ben, Nico and Kit (who actually did the homework) all read their short stories to the shared prompt of Frown – I'm giving no details on this part of the show as any details would be considered spoilers, but it's delightful!

Listen in for all this and more!

Please be aware there is a content warning for episode due to discussion of sexual assault in TV shows

  • Writeopolis S8 E8 - Jonathan Zaurin
    Oct 28 2025

In this extremely unique episode of Writeopolis, we have Kit flying solo as host to the wonderful Jonathan Zaurin!

The two discuss the film Derelict, its premier at Fright Fest and the dangers in trying to keep such things secret, as well as the joys and struggles of making indie films. They also touch upon the perils of losing time to video games, the lack of risk-taking in Hollywood and both Jonathan and Kit reveal their very strong opinions on musicals and musical episodes.

Listeners will also get a sneak peak at the very recently released Millionaire's Day and King Kong comes up in conversation, which is a complete surprise to everyone in an episode where Kit is the only host.

    Enjoy!

    • a deep dive into the English civil war.

    • Ali getting spirited away to another time zone

    • and whether the benefits of a curse outweigh the problems

The Writeopolis part of the episode lowers the tone with:
