His spokesperson says he is fighting like he has fought every other challenge in his life. Giuliani sounded hoarse and was coughing on his show on X this past Friday, but it’s unclear what specifically sent him to the hospital on Sunday. The World Health Organization says hantavirus has been confirmed in the death of one of three cruise ship passengers and suspected in the other 3 “urgent medical” cases. The polar cruise ship is being held off the coast of Cape Verde as health authorities are trying to coordinate the medical evacuation of two crew members who require urgent care, while another passenger is fighting for his life in the hospital. If these cases are confirmed to have spread from human to human, medical experts say this could change the future of travel medicine.

Calvin Duncan has filed a civil rights lawsuit to fight state lawmakers who just eliminated the office he was elected to last year. Duncan was set to take office as criminal court clerk of New Orleans on Monday, when Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry signed a law this week, abolishing the role. Duncan was freed after spending 28 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit, earned his law degree at 60 and is now fighting to assume the office he was legally elected to on Monday.

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Diana Sanders, a nurse from California, bought a “Cheers!” drink package on a 3 day Carnival Cruise. That package allows for 15 alcoholic drinks in a 24 hour period, but Sanders drank 15 tequila shots in an 8 hour period, fell down a flight of stairs and injured her head and back. Sanders sued for $250K for being over served, and a federal jury sided with her, awarding her even more than she asked for in her lawsuit! Carnival cruise is appealing, saying it is seeking a new trial.

A shocking development overnight, ultra low cost carrier, Spirit Airlines, has completely shut down. Its website tells customers not to go to the airport, its customer service is shuttered and 17 thousand employees are waking up with no job. The airline said rising fuel costs were the final nail in its coffin, and despite an 11th hour possible bailout deal with President Trump, the airline said it had no choice but to “begin this wind-down.” The fear now, most experts believe this will lead to higher ticket prices across all airlines, without low fare competition from Spirit.

Authorities announced they have finally identified remains found by local fishermen as the body of 27-year-old Nahida Bristy. Officials had to use DNA and dental records to make the ID, after they found the body of her friend Zamil Limon on a bridge above the bay days earlier. Limon’s roommate, 26-year-old Hisham Abugharbieh has been charged with their premeditated murders, after police say they have physical, digital and forensic evidence tying him to the crime, including damning searches, like, “can a knife penetrate a skull.”
