Today, I speak with author Tracey J. Morgan, known for writing John Candy's autobiography, Search for Candy, as well as The A to Z of Candy and Those Aren't Pillows: A Fan's Guide to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.
It's fair to say that Tracey has focused on a niche era in TV and movies, which led us to delve deeply into the intricacies of what made John Candy and the people around him so special. This discussion extended to how an undoubtedly legendary era of comedy would fit into today's society. Don’t worry, this isn’t some right-wing critique of woke culture; it’s a measured discussion. John Candy was a genius, and it’s fantastic that we have heroes like Tracey who go out there, do the research, and document this time in cinema.
I’m going to leave a link to Search for Candy here in case this podcast has piqued your interest: https://amzn.eu/d/aK4gqll
