This cult, consumed with macabre rituals, believes that consuming human organs can reverse the aging process and grant them eternal youth. The episode also introduces a vigilante woman named Juliet, who is trying to save her sister from the cult and believes she is acting as God's avenging angel.

When a disturbed call center employee, Gary Lambert, suspects his boss is a zombie-creating monster, he responds by taking his co-workers and Mulder hostage. As the tense situation unfolds, Mulder is shocked and horrified when he realizes he can see the monster too. The experience leads him to believe Gary was telling the truth, which in turn causes Scully and Skinner to question Mulder’s sanity. This episode was written by Vince Gilligan and directed by Kim Manners.

An FBI agent and former boyfriend of Scully’s, Jack Willis, is shot during a bank robbery. At the same moment, the robber is also fatally shot. In the hospital, Willis is revived—but begins to exhibit the personality and behavior of the dead criminal. Mulder believes that the criminal’s consciousness has transferred into Willis’s body. As Willis becomes increasingly erratic and obsessed with unfinished criminal business, Scully is caught between loyalty to her old partner and the unsettling truth of what may have happened.
