  • Andor S2 Ep. 7-9...trust, obsession, betrayal wins the day
    May 9 2025

This week on THE HIVE we revel in the brilliance of Andor Season 2, episodes 7, 8, and 9 - arguably the best writing in Star Wars history. Betrayal is everywhere and we get deep into Syril's downfall and Dedra's unraveling, Mon Mothma's dangerous game of chess and daring escape, Luthen's web of obsession, all masterfully woven together by Tony Gilroy's tight, uncompromising storytelling. It’s dark, it’s smart, and we love it. Andor isn’t just good Star Wars. It’s great television, period.

  • Andor S2 Ep. 4-6...great writing, sharp acting, emotional depth
    May 4 2025

In our podcast review of Andor Season 2, Episodes 4–6, THE HIVE dives into the masterful storytelling, political tension, and character complexity that make this the best Star Wars since...well, Andor Season 1. These episodes blend heist-thriller pacing with meditations on loyalty, sacrifice, and rebellion. While the cast shines—especially Diego Luna, Adria Arjona, and Stellan Skarsgård—it’s writer Tony Gilroy who stands as the true hero. His razor-sharp dialogue and slow-burn tension elevate Andor with a near-perfect blend of world-building, suspense, and surprising emotional depth.

  • Daredevil: Born Again is great. How is it on Disney+?
    Apr 18 2025

The boys review the season finale of Daredevil: Born Again, with Matt Murdock delivering the knockout punch fans have been waiting for—bloody, brooding, and just the right amount of Catholic guilt. The episode ties up some loose ends with a flourish of fists and moral ambiguity, reminding us why Daredevil remains the most compelling guy in a mask (sorry, Spider-Man). Kingpin’s arc wraps with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball and the fight choreography is peak Daredevil—gritty, brutal, and honestly kind of shocking for a show sitting next to Bluey and Moana on Disney+. Which begs the question: how is this show on Disney+? How many bone-snapping, gut ripping moments can Disney squeeze in alongside the Frozen Sing-Along before someone notices? And while we’re at it, what would a Daredevil ride at Disneyland even look like? A pitch-black roller coaster where you have to punch your way out blindfolded? Does this signal a change for Disney+ or are we out of our minds?
