  • Utah Weather 3/6 Morning - Unseasonably Warm
    Mar 6 2026
Good morning. Utah. I'm Aaron Jolly. Alright, you woke up to a dusting of snow — about two-tenths of an inch across the valleys. It's 35 degrees right now under gray skies, but here's the good news. This snow is already packing its bags. Along the Wasatch Front, those morning flurries wrap up by early afternoon. You'll climb to 44 degrees with northwest winds around 10 miles an hour. Tonight dips to 26 degrees under partly cloudy skies — grab a jacket if you're out late. Down in Southern Utah? You're living in a different season. Sunshine and 60 degrees this afternoon with light breezes. Tonight cools to 37 degrees under mostly clear skies. If you ask me, that's pretty close to perfect. Now the mountains — that's where things get interesting. Snow showers hang around through early afternoon with some heavy bursts. There's even a slight chance of thunderstorms before 5 P.M. Temperatures peak near 33 degrees but fall through the afternoon. Northwest winds gust to 12 miles an hour. You'll pick up less than an inch of new snow before it finally exits around 8 P.M. Tonight drops to 18 degrees. For the weekend. Saturday brings sunshine statewide. The Wasatch Front hits 48 degrees. Southern Utah jumps to 67. The mountains? A gorgeous 42 degrees. Sunday cranks up the warmth even more — 58 degrees along the Wasatch Front, 74 degrees in Southern Utah. And 50 degrees in the mountains. That's unseasonably warm for early March. Monday peaks around 65 degrees along the Front, near 80 degrees down south. And 55 in the mountains. Sunshine dominates through midweek with highs gradually climbing into the upper 60s by Thursday. This morning if you're heading out early. The snow ends fast. And a beautiful weekend is right around the corner. See you tomorrow. • Utah Weather March 5 Midday - Winter Storm Watch
    Mar 5 2026
Good afternoon. Utah. I'm Aaron Jolly. Winter dropped a third of an inch of snow on us overnight. And right now you're staring at 40 degrees and gray skies. But don't get too comfortable — the cold air's settling in. And snow showers are spinning back up this afternoon. In the next 24 hours. The mountains are getting absolutely dumped on. Another inch or two by evening up high. Down along the Wasatch Front, you're seeing mixed rain and snow through tonight, with the heaviest bursts around 11 P.M. Roads could turn slick fast under those heavier bands, so take it slow if you're out late. Southern Utah? You lucked out. St. George hits 61 degrees under sunny skies. Tonight drops to 37, but you stay bone dry. Now the mountains — that's where the action is. Snow keeps cranking — 34 degrees this afternoon, falling to 24 tonight. Feels like 16 by morning. Total accumulation could hit 1 to 3 inches overnight, with another inch possible Friday. In Here's big one, winter Storm Watch is up for the Central Mountains. Six to 14 inches possible through Friday afternoon. Mountain routes get dicey fast. Friday brings one more round of snow before things finally ease off. Saturday? Gorgeous. Sunny skies, 49 degrees along the Wasatch Front, 68 down south. Sunday warms even more — 58 in Salt Lake, 74 in St. George. Monday pushes into the mid-60s statewide. One more thing — we're gaining 2 minutes and 41 seconds of daylight today. Spring equinox is two weeks out. And tonight's full moon will light up those fresh snow-covered peaks. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Utah Weather March 5 Morning - 15° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Utah. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light dusting on your windshield this morning? Just the preview. A cold front is carving through the state right now. And it's making the morning commute along the Wasatch Front a slow crawl. In the next 24 hours. Here's the split. Along the Wasatch Front, snow keeps falling through late morning, possibly switching to rain this afternoon. You'll hit 43 degrees, but that northwest wind at 10 miles an hour makes it feel like 28 around 8 A.M. Tonight? Rain and snow continue with lows near 32. Push into the mountains and it's a different world. A Winter Storm Watch is up for the Central Mountains — 6 to 14 inches could pile up through Friday. Highs today barely crack 34 degrees, with wind chills in the teens this morning. Parleys Canyon? Take it slow. Down in Southern Utah, it's practically spring. Sunny skies, 60 degrees, not a flake in sight. Lows tonight drop to 37 under clear skies. Friday keeps the pattern rolling. More snow chances up north and in the mountains. Southern Utah stays sunny and pleasant. But here's the good news. High pressure builds in this weekend. By Sunday, the Wasatch Front hits 56 degrees. Monday? 63. Southern Utah could see upper 70s by Monday afternoon — that's 15 degrees above normal for early March. Spring is knocking loud. In Tonight's full moon rises at 6, 24 P.M. If clouds break, grab a look. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
