      This episode is dedicated to the upcoming Big STEAM event, that is taking place Saturday, February 21st, inside LCC's Arts & Sciences Building. Designed specifically for students in grades 7 through 12, this initiative aims to foster engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) through interactive activities and demonstrations. Guests Kirsten Wright and Luanne Cuthbert, both educators at Lansing Community College, discuss the event's significance and its evolution alongside Steam Fest. This Big STEAM event is free and open to the public.

    • Michigan Writing Centers Association Fall Conference Is Coming to LCC

      The Star Zone welcomes Jill Reglin. Jill will discuss the origins of the Michigan Writing Center Association and their upcoming 30th annual Ideas Exchange conference which will be hosted at Lansing Community College on September 28th.

      Guest Bio: Jill Reglin is a professor in the English department at Lansing Community College where she also serves as a Faculty Writing Center Coordinator. She is beginning her 27th year at the college this fall. As a graduate student at Michigan State University, she worked in the MSU Writing Center during its inaugural year of operation in 1992. She is credited as having founded the Michigan Writing Centers Association (the MiWCA), which is now celebrating the 30th year of its statewide Ideas Exchange conference.
