    Coach Jim Stroker welcomes guest Andy Pleasants, who was born with Goldenhar Syndrome affecting facial development and causing significant hearing and communication challenges, and discusses how Andy’s response has shaped who he is. Andy shares that ASL has been his first language since about six months old, describes his signing “accents” (a slower Southern drawl versus a faster New York pace), and reflects on his close bond with his brother Jamison, who has Treacher Collins syndrome, including supporting each other through surgeries. Andy talks about past isolation, depression, anxiety, and self-doubt, how making song-interpretation videos helped him express himself and connect with the global deaf community, and the importance of gratitude and support systems. He encourages young people that change is constant, challenges won’t last forever, and everyone contributes, and he shares his “I love you” tattoo as a reminder of self-love.     Coach Jim Stroker highlights Jeff Harmon and Bill Villafranco. Jeff Harmon is the founder of MyImpossible.org, a nonprofit inspired by Jeff’s incredible wheelchair summit of… Mt Kilimanjaro! Jeff’s foundation supports people with visible and invisible disabilities, and their dreams of achieving their own “Impossible”. Coach Stroker and Jeff Harmon are joined by the amazing Bill Villafranco, speaker, philanthropist, Trustee of the Virginia B Toulmin Foundation and Executive Director of MyFace.org. On The R Zone, Stroker frames the hero’s journey through E+R=O (Events + Your Response = the Outcome) and interviews Jeff Harmon and Bill Villafranco about reframing life’s hardest events. Harmon shares being diagnosed in 2006 with the rare genetic neurological disease Adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN), losing his ability to walk, moving into a wheelchair, finding purpose through faith and community, and summiting Kilimanjaro in 2015. Bill recounts his son’s death at birth, years of depression and addiction, recovery through trusted support, service work, and a meditation practice learned from Hartanto in Thailand. Both emphasize vulnerability, men’s community, and serving others, and promote MyImpossible’s upcoming Fitness Impossible event and the Kilimanjaro documentary premiere.
