Just a note, from Daniel, while I may have some very bitter personal experience with a small handful of members, albeit high profile, of DSA, I wholeheartedly support the organization and the many different types of work its members do.  I didn't want to derail the discussion by personal experiences.  While I may disagree with specific political positions taken by individuals or chapters or tendencies with the org I believe the renewal of a socialist party in this country is one of the most hopefully political signs of my entire adult life.
