Do you resonate with the idea of being a system of many different parts or subpersonalities that have different hopes and agendas for you, rather than feeling like one fixed personality? And perhaps you know deep down that your deepest authentic Self is already healed and whole, even if it most days it doesn’t really feel like that? Same! This is the understanding of the Internal Family Systems model — created by Richard Schwartz. This podcast is a celebration of what it is like to live as a system of parts, learning to be more Self Led. We welcome all your parts to this ’Parts Party’ with Adriana and Ella, therapists and IFS enthusiasts, as they discuss the lived experience of the Internal Family Systems. Aug 17 2026

Jenny Fiebig is an IFS consultant and trainer based in Colorado, USA. She is passionate about outdoor adventures such paddling rivers and snowboarding down mountains and brings this expertise into her therapy room by supporting people who have experienced outdoor trauma (avalanches, accidents etc). Bringing therapy and nature together out of the therapy room, Jenny takes groups of IFS therapists and practitioners into the wilderness for multi-day journeys by raft through the Colorado river, where participants are invited to explore the outer as well as their inner landscapes. Jenny also specialises in and offers workshops with therapists on working with people who have experienced childhood neglect, including the common experience of having caregivers that tried their best, but were emotionally unavailable.

Jenny has recently supported the Mind Beyond Australia Team to run an IFS Level 1 training in Perth, Western Australia. We hope it will be the first of many!

  • E19. Parts Party with Max Littman
    Jun 4 2026

Max Littman is a gay male therapist in Oakland, California. He specializes in relationship counseling, therapy for work burnout, LGBTQ+ therapy, and trauma therapy, with a particular emphasis on gay and queer men and childhood trauma.

Much of this comes from lived experience. When it comes to being gay, Max says he knows what it’s like to grow up sensing something is different before there is language for it, to carry shame quietly, to mask, to wait, and to come out internally long before letting others in. Max acknowledges that coming out is not a single moment of relief, but often the beginning of a new, tender, and disorienting developmental phase.

His recent book Internal Family Systems Therapy for Gay and Queer Men: A Companion for After Coming Out explores the deeper, less visible layers of the journey: navigating friendship, intimacy, community, identity, self-worth, and the emotional burdens that can linger long after coming out.

Max is a prolific author and has written blog posts on many different topics related to therapy and IFS. We had a great time asking him about his own internal world of parts and Self.
