Have you ever looked at the people around you and thought, “What is wrong with me? I don’t seem to think or act anything like these people…”

Or, if you’re more honest, have you ever thought, “What’s wrong with THEM?! Why can’t they just do things like I do??” We all do it, so we might as well be honest about it!

God just made us all to think and act differently. But, there tend to be some similarities and general, broad categories that we can use to help us understand each other, and that’s where personality typing comes in SO handy!

Not only can we begin to understand the people around us instead of immediately condemning or dismissing them because they’re different from us. We can ALSO use these tools to really dig in and figure out how God created us to function in this world, what gifts He’s given us to share with others, and what He’s put us here to accomplish here on Earth.

I can’t tell you the number of times a mom has told me, “I just feel invisible, like nothing I do outside of taking care of our home and our kids actually matters. I’m not good at ANYTHING anymore.”

And doesn’t it often feel like that? In the midst of changing diapers, driving kids hither and yon, and making sure everyone is fed and has clean clothes to wear, we tend to lose sight of ourselves.

That thing we were really good at before kids now feels completely irrelevant to our lives. Who cares that we were the best CPA or the best brain surgeon or if you could sell ice to an Eskimo? When your whole world is wrapped up in kids and home, those other skill sets just don’t seem that critical right now.

But, I’m here today with a quick reminder that your God-given talents and gifts never expire. And He has a plan for you to USE those gifts for the benefit of your family, your church, and yourself!
