    • Brian Daniels: Life of an Artist (Part 1)
      Mar 6 2022

Join us as we discuss the case of Brian Daniels. In this two part deep dive we discuss Brian's life as a student , an artist , a poet and a sweet good natured child. Brian was as passionate about studying art as he was for Egyptology, something he fixated on growing up and made a living with as an adult. Brian lived a good life even though he had some challenges. Brian was diagnosed with schizophrenia and to the best of our knowledge was given the appropriate treatments including medications. With the help of his mother who was also his primary caregiver Brian lived a full life. But as in most cases we discuss things took a turn when Brian was caught in his home in a fire where he he sustained severe burns which resulted in a long hospital stay and the need for more care. Once out of the hospital Brian's mother carried on her role as caregiver but sadly passed away not long after. Leaving Brian grieving his mother's death and needing the help of a new caregiver. This was a dark period for Brian who had relied on his mother from childhood for support, love and the caregiving that he needed. We end part one just before Brian starts looking for a new caregiver just before the problems that will eventually lead to his death begin to arise.

    • Doris Duke: The Aftermath
      Feb 21 2022

Welcome to the Finale of the Doris Duke saga. In this episode we talk about what happened in the minutes, hours, days and years after her death. The whole cast of characters from her life show up once again to contest her will, admit guilt, steal as a result of trauma and a whole host of other things. We have told you of the crime we believe Doris committed and in this episode we will take a look into the if and the why the crime of murder was the end of her life and her story. Kris and Rebel talk at some length about their thoughts and theories of the case. When they decided to tell this story as their first episode they had no idea it would be four episodes. This case has been interesting to cover and will set the tone for cases to come.

A Note From the Podcast Editor Rebel: I am happy to announce that we have moved over to Anchor to publish and host our podcast. From this episode forward we will be releasing one episode per week. We have a long list of cases that we would like to cover but please feel free to contact us on any of our socials or via e mail if you have a case that lives in the junction of disability and criminal justice. Thank you for listening!
