  • "Star Trek: Nemesis" Review - The Final Voyage of the Enterprise-E

    As the Enterprise crew celebrates the marriage of Commander William Riker and Counselor Deanna Troi, Captain Jean-Luc Picard gets an urgent message that there's been a regime change on Romulus. Picard is then told to travel to the Romulan homeworld and learn more about their new praetor/leader, Shinzon. When Picard and his team meet the mysterious Shinzon, they are shocked to discover he looks just like Picard. After Picard hears Shinzon's backstory, he gets a better understanding of this man and even begins to confide in him. Yet, things take a drastic turn when Picard and his team find out why Shinzon took over Romulus as well as his grand plan for the galaxy. In order to save the day, Picard and his crew will have to put their lives on the line to stop Shinzon and his evil agenda.... even if that means some might have to make the ultimate sacrifice to do so.

    Listen as we discuss how "Star Trek: The Next Generation's" final film has some interesting ideas but ultimately ends up being an underwhelming adventure. Also, stay tuned until the end for our ranking of the TNG films!

    When Captain Jean-Luc Picard learns Data has malfunctioned and taken a Starfleet-Son'a team hostage, he directs the Enterprise to the planet Ba'ku to help his friend. Once there, Starfleet Vice Admiral Matthew Dougherty and Son'a Commander Ru'afo tell Picard they plan to destroy Data, but Picard implores them to let him find the android first. After Picard rescues Data, he gathers more information and realizes there are holes in Dougherty and Ru'afo's story. When the Enterprise crew returns to Ba'ku, they discover what's really going on and find themselves trying to stop a major conspiracy to take over this planet and steal its mysterious resources.

    Listen as we discuss how director Jonathan Frakes' second feature film feels like a classic TNG episode while F. Murray Abraham delivers the best onscreen "Noooooo" since Darth Vader.

They soon discover the Borg have traveled to April 4, 2063 to stop Zefram Cochrane from inventing warp drive (which leads to first contact with aliens and sets the stage for humanity's future). While half the crew goes to Earth to make sure Cochrane achieves warp drive, the other half stays on the Enterprise to stop the Borg from achieving their diabolical goal. Faced with the most important mission of their careers, Picard and his team will let nothing stop them from preserving history as they make one last stand against this resilient hivemind.

    Listen as we discuss how Jonathan Frakes' directorial debut is an epic, action-packed adventure while Patrick Stewart helps Captain Picard move up a rank from reserved diplomat to full-fledged action hero.

  • ”Fletch Lives" Review: An Inherent-ly Dull Sequel

After learning he's inherited his aunt's Louisiana plantation, Fletch prepares for a luxurious new lifestyle... only to find out the place is a mess. As Fletch contemplates what to do with the property, things take a deadly turn when he's framed for murder. On top of that, a variety of characters are pressuring Fletch to sell his aunt's home. Fletch soon realizes there's a scheme at play and dons his reporter's cap once again to find out who's out to get him and his inheritance.

    Listen as we discuss how "Fletch Lives" isn't as funny or interesting as the original (despite director Michael Ritchie and Chevy Chase both returning) while Chase makes Fletch more crude than charming in this latest mystery.
