Episode 65: Iron Man 2

The MCU journey continues with Iron Man 2, a movie that is definitely about Iron Man—and an episode that frequently is not.

RC and Uncle Chris break down Tony Stark’s daddy issues, the greatness of Black Widow, War Machine, Justin Hammer, Whiplash’s unexplained obsession with his bird, and whether Iron Man 2 is actually any good. Along the way, they discover QR codes can apparently be held for ransom, debate the athletic merits of curling, draft John the IT Guy and a giant donut, completely destroy the One-Liner Tournament, and somehow stumble into a meaningful conversation about fatherhood, asking for help, and the legacy we leave our kids.

Chris is looking for a job, so RC decides the real solution is to get him a hobby.

This week we argue about an old guy slapping a kid at a baseball game, talk hiking, books, horror movies, squirrels, chickens, and whether Chris should start playing music again. We also try out a new music segment, Chris tells the story of lying in a job interview, and we wrap things up with a very questionable game of Bed Wed Dead.

This week starts with an important medical discussion about what we're calling "constipated in the penis" and somehow only gets stranger from there.

We witness one of the wildest things we've ever seen in public, make an unexpected friend who may or may not be trying to scam us, celebrate Chris landing a guest spot on another podcast, and relive our trip to Seattle for the World Cup—including street performers, Jameis Winston, packed light rail cars, and two glorious minutes of believing Team USA might actually pull it off.
