  • 2 Kings 14 – Amaziah’s Reign, Israel’s Victory, and Judah’s Pride | Bible Study
    Oct 12 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 14 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as Amaziah becomes king of Judah and Israel experiences renewed strength under Jeroboam II. This chapter explores justice, humility, pride, consequences, leadership, mercy, and God's compassion.

Amaziah follows the LORD, but not with the same faithfulness as David. He executes his father's murderers while obeying the Law of Moses by sparing their children. After defeating Edom, Amaziah challenges Jehoash king of Israel, but his pride leads to Judah's defeat and the breaking of Jerusalem's wall.

Amaziah later flees to Lachish and is killed. Meanwhile, Jeroboam II restores Israel's territory according to the word of the LORD through the prophet Jonah. Despite Israel's continued sin, God sees their suffering and shows compassion by delivering them from affliction.

Through this chapter, we see the consequences of pride, the importance of justice and humility, and God's mercy toward people in times of suffering.

Together, we will study this chapter verse-by-verse, exploring its historical context, theological depth, and spiritual lessons about justice, humility, leadership, pride, mercy, prophecy, restoration, and trusting the LORD.

  • 2 Kings 13 – Jehoahaz’s Repentance, Elisha’s Final Prophecy, and Israel’s Restoration | Bible Study
    Oct 11 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 13 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as Israel faces oppression, repentance, and God's mercy. This chapter explores prayer, repentance, deliverance, faith, prophecy, and God's faithfulness.

Jehoahaz becomes king of Israel and continues in the sins of Jeroboam. Because of Israel's oppression by Syria, Jehoahaz seeks the LORD, and God provides a deliverer. His son Jehoash later reigns and continues the conflict with Syria.

Elisha becomes sick and approaches the end of his life. He instructs Jehoash to strike the ground with arrows as a sign of victory, but the king stops after striking only three times. Elisha declares that Israel will achieve only limited victories over Syria.

After Elisha dies, a dead man is restored to life when his body touches Elisha's bones, demonstrating that God's power and prophetic word continue even after His servant's death. Syria continues to trouble Israel, but the LORD shows mercy to His people.

Through this chapter, we see God's willingness to respond to repentance, His mercy toward His people, and the importance of trusting His Word fully.

Together, we will study this chapter verse-by-verse, exploring its historical context, theological depth, and spiritual lessons about prayer, repentance, faith, mercy, prophecy, God's power, and trusting the LORD.

  • 2 Kings 12 – Joash’s Reign, Temple Repairs, and Judah’s Challenges | Bible Study
    Oct 10 2026

    Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 12 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as King Joash seeks to repair the temple of the LORD and restore proper worship in Judah. This chapter explores leadership, stewardship, worship, faithfulness, and responsibility.

Joash reigns in Jerusalem and does what is right in the sight of the LORD while Jehoiada the priest instructs him. Joash commands that the money given for the temple be used to repair its damaged areas. The priests eventually establish a system to collect and manage the funds for the repairs.

As the temple is restored, Joash also faces the threat of Hazael, king of Syria. He sends the sacred treasures and royal gifts to Hazael, who withdraws from Jerusalem. Later, Joash is assassinated by his servants, and his son Amaziah becomes king.

Through this chapter, we see the importance of faithful stewardship, responsible leadership, and preserving a place of worship. We also see that outward reform does not remove the consequences of political weakness and human sin.

Together, we will study this chapter verse-by-verse, exploring its historical context, theological depth, and spiritual lessons about worship, stewardship, leadership, responsibility, faithfulness, and trusting the LORD.
