In this episode, Karen bakes a Caramel Apple Cobbler while Anne unpacks the case of Colleen Slemmer, who was brutally tortured and murdered by Christa Pike and Tadaryl Shipp. Recently, Christa was scheduled for execution by the State of Tennessee, but after 2 attempts, the execution failed and Christa eventually was returned to prison. We wanted to remind our listeners that while Christa's plight is unusual and ghastly, her devilish deeds far outweigh her outcome! We still want to five Colleen her voice so she is not overshadowed by recent events and does not get lost in the headlines. Please take time today to say Colleen's name so she feels the love and recognition she deserves.
