Pauline Dakin, author of Run, Hide, Repeat: A Memoir of a Fugitive Childhood, grew up amid sudden moves, secrecy and unexplained fear. Later, she was told her family had been fleeing the mafia under the protection of a covert organisation. Her investigation revealed a very different story.

In S6E15 of Strange & Mysterious World, Pauline recounts the trusted minister at the centre of her family's secret world, letters presented as coming from relatives, and the test that finally broke the story apart. We explore trust, manipulation, the expert explanations she sought about delusional disorder, and the lasting cost of believing those closest to us.

The hosts also explore possible paranormal interpretations; Pauline offers her own grounded explanation. This is a personal account of family experience, not a clinical diagnosis or medical advice.

Could the Mount Kailash described in ancient Indian texts be a different mountain? Indo-Tibetan historian Alex McKay joins Strange & Mysterious World to explore Mount Kailash, Shiva and his argument that Shri Kailash near the source of the Ganges may hold an overlooked place in this sacred history.

Alex recounts his gruelling 1986 pilgrimage through Tibet and the journey that led him into decades of Himalayan research. We explore why Kailash draws pilgrims from different faiths, the legend of Milarepa, the relationship between landscape and spiritual experience, and how stories about sacred places change over time.

We also discuss extraordinary claims surrounding Kailash—including rapid ageing and time distortion—and Alex explains why he distinguishes those stories from evidence. His identification of Shri Kailash is presented as a historical argument, not an established conclusion.

An interview about faith, endurance and the search for meaning in the sacred Himalayas.

Can Chinese metaphysics help you recognise the right time to act? Estie Mattheus joins Strange & Mysterious World to explore BaZi, Feng Shui and the traditional systems she uses to interpret timing, personal patterns and decision-making.

We unpack the five arts of Chinese metaphysics, the five elements, Qi Men Dun Jia and the I Ching. William shares what happened when he tried to time a business proposal—and why a previous Feng Shui consultation left him questioning his home.

The conversation also explores Estie’s account of sensing her brother’s presence after his death, the relationship between manifestation and action, and her interpretation of Period 9 and September 2026.

Can these traditions offer useful perspective without making us feel that every decision is already determined?

This interview explores personal experiences and traditional metaphysical beliefs. Predictions and claims reflect the speakers’ interpretations and are not established scientific findings or medical, financial or property advice.

Has Freemasonry lost its deeper teachings—or are they still hidden in plain sight? Author and Freemason Jaime Paul Lamb joins Strange & Mysterious World to explore Masonic symbolism, initiation and the Western esoteric tradition.

We discuss Jaime’s understanding of Freemasonry as inner temple building, its connections with Rosicrucianism and Hermetic philosophy, and the alchemical and astrological interpretations of its rituals. Can a tradition preserve knowledge even when those passing it on no longer understand its meaning?

The conversation also explores Gnosticism, competing theories about the Knights Templar, and Jaime’s personal journey from philosophical uncertainty to finding purpose through the Craft. Finally, he explains how he translates a natal chart into music performed on a harmonium.

Historical theories and metaphysical claims are discussed as the speakers’ interpretations and beliefs, rather than established scientific findings.

What do you think: can ritual preserve a teaching after its meaning has been forgotten? Share your thoughts below, and subscribe for more Strange & Mysterious World conversations.

Are dragons real? Cryptozoologist Richard Freeman joins Strange & Mysterious World to explore modern dragon sightings, ancient dragon mythology and what witnesses say they encountered.

Richard recounts a reported encounter at Waverley Abbey in Surrey and discusses his interviews with five witnesses. From African flying serpents to Asian water dragons, we explore why dragon stories appear across cultures—and whether familiar animals, folklore or something stranger could explain them.

The conversation ventures into Richard’s “Global Monster Template” theory, consciousness, tulpas and thought forms, his account of a fairy encounter on Dartmoor, parallels with UFO experiences, and the mysteries surrounding Loch Ness.

These are reported experiences, folklore and speculative interpretations, explored through an open-minded conversation.

What if sharks don't just recognize individual humans, but remember who helped them? After more than 30 years working underwater with wild sharks, Cristina Zenato reveals extraordinary encounters that challenge almost everything we've been taught about these animals. In this episode of Strange & Mysterious World, we explore the intelligence, personalities and surprising communication of sharks, including sharks that deliberately approach Cristina, allow her to remove fishing hooks from their bodies, and then behave completely differently toward her afterward. Cristina describes the remarkable story of Foggy Eye, a shark who allowed her to reach inside her mouth and remove a hook and from that day forward began coming to her and resting against her. We also explore: • Whether sharks recognize individual human beings • Why different sharks appear to have completely different personalities • Whether animals communicate with humans beyond spoken language • The experiment involving mentally communicating with sharks • Why fear may completely distort our perception of predators • Why great white sharks can be encountered outside cages — but why Cristina still wouldn't recommend it commercially • How Jaws changed our perception of sharks • Why dolphins and orcas may be far less innocent than popular culture suggests • What nearly five years of accumulated time underwater taught Cristina about human consciousness • Why she says sharks can “strip you raw” and reveal who you really are • What sharks have taught her about fear, prejudice and being human This conversation isn't really just about sharks. It's about intelligence, consciousness, communication — and whether humanity has drastically underestimated the minds of the animals sharing this planet with us. Watch to the end and tell us in the comments: Do you believe animals can recognize and communicate with individual human beings in ways science still doesn't fully understand? Subscribe to Strange & Mysterious World for more conversations exploring consciousness, mysteries, extraordinary experiences and the unexplained.

What if consciousness doesn't just observe reality — but actually participates in creating it?

In this extraordinary conversation, consciousness researcher Dr. Dean Radin takes us deep into the scientific evidence surrounding psychic phenomena, manifestation, synchronicity, telepathy, precognition and what ancient traditions called magic.

🎬 Go deeper with Eleusis TV

If you love the subjects we explore on Strange & Mysterious World, discover Eleusis TV — a streaming platform dedicated to documentaries exploring consciousness, ancient wisdom, psychedelics, spirituality and the mysteries of human existence.

Dean reveals the bizarre experience in which he bent a metal spoon and felt it become like putty, explains experiments suggesting that future events may influence the present, explores whether psychic receptivity could have a genetic component, and discusses one of the strangest hypotheses of the episode: whether centuries of persecution during the Inquisition could have influenced those genetic patterns.

We also explore terminal lucidity and survival after death, The Telepathy Tapes, meditation and psychic development, synchronicity, Yoga Nidra manifestation, consciousness as the foundation of reality, and Dean's work involving RNA technology that could one day contribute to understanding how human cognition, intuition and even psychic ability might be enhanced.

This is where quantum physics, consciousness research, ancient mystical traditions and the science of magic collide.
