  • The Food Price Is Wrong: Who Actually Knows What Groceries Cost?
    Nov 5 2026

The Food Price Is Wrong: Who Actually Knows What Groceries Cost?

How much does a regular bag of Doritos cost these days?

Four dollars? Six dollars? Do you need to refinance your house just to buy a bag of chips?

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, Matt, Megh and Iyla are putting their food-price knowledge to the ultimate test in THE FOOD PRICE IS WRONG!

Three family members. Four rounds. One final championship challenge. And absolutely no confidence that anybody knows what they're doing.

The rules are simple: Everyone guesses the price of a food item. The closest guess earns points, and an exact answer earns even more.

    Sounds easy, right?

Well, things get interesting when a regular bag of Doritos starts a debate, a Five Guys cheeseburger costs more than anyone expected, and the family discovers an entirely different world of luxury foods.

    We're talking $1,000 ice cream, a $2,000 pizza and a $5,000 burger.

    Yes. A five-thousand-dollar burger.

And somehow, that's not even the final challenge.

    In This Episode
    • Round 1: Grocery Store Reality Check — Doritos, peanut butter, eggs, Oreos and ice cream
    • Round 2: Fast Food Frenzy — Big Macs, Crunchwraps, McNuggets, Blizzards and Five Guys
    • Round 3: What the Heck Does That Cost? — Wagyu steak, luxury water and some truly ridiculous luxury food game prices
    • Round 4: The Grocery Receipt From Hell — Can anyone correctly estimate the cost of movie night, taco night and breakfast?
    • The Ultimate Price Is Wrong Finale— One grocery cart, three final guesses and a championship on the line

Along the way, there are questionable guesses, family arguments, surprising prices and the realization that maybe none of us should be trusted to do the grocery shopping.

    Play Along!

You don't need to see anything to participate. Every item and its price are discussed during the show.

Before we reveal each answer, make your own guess and see whether you can beat Matt, Megh and Iyla.

    Then tell us:

What's one food you used to buy all the time that has become ridiculously overpriced?

We want to hear your answers!

  • Which Came First? The Ultimate Family Food Trivia Showdown
    Oct 29 2026

WHICH CAME FIRST? THE ULTIMATE FAMILY FOOD TRIVIA SHOWDOWN

How well do you REALLY know your favorite foods?

You probably know what an Oreo tastes like.

You probably know the difference between Doritos and Pringles.

And you've definitely heard of McDonald's and Taco Bell.

But do you know which one came FIRST?

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, Matt is joined by Avery, Iyla, and Megh for a family food-history challenge that sounds easy until the questions start coming.

    The rules are simple.

    Two famous foods.

    One question.

    Which came first?

    But there's a catch.

Everyone has to bet points based on how confident they are in their answer.

Get it right, and you earn those points.

Get it wrong, and you lose them.

Suddenly, being absolutely certain about something you know nothing about becomes a very expensive mistake.

And because nobody knows the correct answers ahead of time, the entire family is playing for real.

    THE CHALLENGES

    Oreo vs. Chocolate Chip Cookie

    Pop-Tarts vs. Toaster Strudel

    Doritos vs. Pringles

    Reese's vs. M&M's

    Hostess Cupcakes vs. Twinkies

    Cheez-It vs. Lucky Charms

    McDonald's vs. Taco Bell

    Snickers vs. Kit Kat

    Jif vs. Nutella

Candy Corn vs. Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar

And then comes the championship question:

    Milky Way vs. 3 Musketeers

Eleven questions. Four competitors. One champion.

WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS THEIR FOOD HISTORY?

Along the way, the family discovers that some of the foods we think have been around forever aren't nearly as old as we imagined.

There are surprising answers, confident guesses, questionable strategies, and a few moments where knowing absolutely nothing might have been the better approach.

    PLAY ALONG!

You don't need to see anything to join the competition.

Listen to each matchup, make your guess before the answer is revealed, and keep track of your score.

    Then let us know:

How many did you get right out of 11?

Which answer surprised you the most?

And could you have beaten Matt, Avery, Iyla, and Megh?

  • She Predicted the First Korean Snack… Somehow!
    Oct 22 2026

She Predicted the First Korean Snack… Somehow!

What happens when you give a family a mystery box full of South Korean snacks and absolutely no idea what they're about to eat?

Apparently, somebody becomes a snack psychic.

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, Matt is joined by Lo and Iyla for a South Korean SnackCrate adventure. Before the first snack even comes out, Iyla makes a prediction that sounds completely ridiculous.

    Churros.

    South Korean food. Churros.

    Surely not, right?

Well, things get interesting pretty quickly.

From crunchy ramen you're supposed to smash instead of cook to spicy rice cake snacks, fruity gummies, savory sticks, mysterious chewy candy, and a cream cheese brownie, the family works through ten snacks while attempting to agree on which ones are actually good.

    In this episode:

    • A mystery-country guessing game featuring France and Brazil.
    • Iyla's surprisingly accurate churro prediction.
    • Korean ramen that gets smashed instead of boiled.
    • A spicy snack that doesn't survive the taste test.
    • The great grape-flavor disagreement.
    • A serious investigation into whether something is gum or taffy.
    • The family's individual Top 3 rankings.
    • One overall winning snack.

And yes, somehow churros become the biggest story of a South Korean snack box.

    Join the conversation

What's the strangest snack you've ever tried? Is there a country whose snacks we absolutely need to try next?

  • 90 WNBA Cards, $27, and Three Very Different Predictions
    Oct 15 2026

90 WNBA Cards, $27, and Three Very Different Predictions | Stay Outta My Fridge

What happens when your daughters discover Walmart has restocked the WNBA trading cards?

    Apparently, Dad spends $27.

This week, Matt is joined by Avery and Iyla for a laid-back Sunday Funday in the studio. They've got six packs of 2026 Donruss WNBA cards, 90 total cards, and absolutely no guarantee they're going to pull anything good.

Before the packs get opened, everybody makes a prediction:

    • Iyla thinks they'll find $30 in card value.
    • Avery predicts $25.
    • Matt goes with $34.

    Then the packs start flying.

There's a rated-rookie surprise, a Kiki Iriafen jersey-card pull, plenty of player-name improvisation, and a little help from the Collects app to estimate what the cards might be worth.

And because this is Stay Outta My Fridge, we can't just talk about basketball cards.

The family also gets into sleepovers, Roblox, Halloween, scary movies, a bizarre clown encounter at Walmart, bowling, soccer, and whether Dad's retirement plans involve doing absolutely nothing.

The big question: Can a $27 box of WNBA cards actually be worth more than what Matt paid?

By the end, the family estimates their pulls could be worth around $50–$60. Whether anybody actually buys them is another story entirely.

It's cards, laughs, family chaos, and another Sunday in the Beard Laws household.

    Listen for:

    • A $27 WNBA card-opening experiment
    • Three predictions and six packs
    • A Kiki Iriafen jersey-card surprise
    • Rookie cards and estimated values
    • Halloween and sleepover stories
    • Dad getting roasted, as usual

Card values mentioned are estimates, not confirmed sale prices or guaranteed profits.

  • We Let AI Cook Our Lunch... and Somehow It Worked
    Oct 8 2026

Can Artificial Intelligence Actually Make a Good Lunch?

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, we're answering one of life's most important questions:

Can ChatGPT make something edible using whatever random food happens to be sitting in our refrigerator?

Matt and his 10-year-old daughter Iyla are putting AI to the test in a father-daughter cooking challenge that could either end with a delicious lunch or a phone call to the nearest sandwich shop.

    Here's how it works.

Iyla searches the fridge, freezer, and cupboards for 15 ingredients. Everything from leftover pizza and eggs to Nutella, Slim Jims, SpaghettiOs, and mozzarella cheese makes the list.

Then ChatGPT gets one job: Create a complete lunch using only what we already have.

No grocery shopping. No starting over.

And Iyla has to cook it!

    The AI Recipe

ChatGPT decides that today's lunch should be a crispy pizza, egg, and hash brown breakfast sandwich.

    Yes, you read that correctly.

We're combining leftover white garlic pizza, scrambled eggs, melted mozzarella, crispy hash browns, and toasted bread.

    What could possibly go wrong?

    In This Episode:

    • Iyla searches the kitchen for 15 random ingredients.
    • ChatGPT creates an unexpected lunch recipe.
    • Dad discovers that AI has some questionable culinary ideas.
    • Iyla puts her cooking skills to the test.
    • A cucumber emergency forces an unexpected substitution.
    • We ask AI to recommend the perfect condiment.
    • The father-daughter taste test delivers a surprising verdict.

Along the way, we discover that sometimes the strangest food combinations actually work.

And more importantly, spending time together in the kitchen can be just as enjoyable as eating whatever comes out of it.

  • We Tried Snacks From Around the World… Some Were a Mistake
    Oct 1 2026

Pack your bags. Actually, don't. We're way too cheap for that.

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, we're traveling the world the only way we know how: sitting in the studio and eating other people's snacks.

Matt's brother and his family gave us a giant collection of snacks from Brazil, Germany, the UK and the Caribbean. Instead of intelligently researching any of them beforehand, we put Lo in charge.

    Excellent decision.

Lo hands out the snacks one at a time while Matt, Megh and Avery taste-test everything, attempt to figure out what they're eating and guess which country each snack came from.

Along the way we discover prawn cocktail snacks, German peanut puffs, mystery cookies, international Cheetos, gummies, bacon-flavored snacks, strawberry biscuits and several foods we're still not entirely convinced were intended for human consumption.

    Avery hates almost everything.

Matt discovers a snack that tastes like the smell of burnt tires.

    The dog gets involved.

And somehow we eventually find a few things we'd willingly eat again.

Plus, we discuss whether international Snack Crates should become a regular part of Stay Outta My Fridge so we can continue traveling the world without leaving the studio.

Grab a snack and join us.

Just maybe don't grab the bacon-flavored one.

  • We Took $400 to a Casino for a Kid-Free Date Night
    Sep 24 2026

Matt and Megh are KID FREE.

So naturally, they're going to the casino.

This week on Stay Outta My Fridge, Matt and Megh head to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort with $400 and a challenge: they each get $200 and whoever finishes with the most money wins.

Megh has her sights set on the slot machines she's been watching and playing for months. Matt thinks his roulette, blackjack and table-game experience might finally give him an advantage.

It does not go according to plan.

The day quickly becomes a battle of luck, casino food, slot bonuses and rapidly disappearing bankrolls. Matt tries roulette, blackjack, craps and eventually turns to the slots. Megh hunts down Planet Moolah, King Kong and some of the machines she's been waiting to play in real life.

They battle over who ordered the better casino lunch, watch another player hit a massive jackpot, finally get onto Dragon Link and discover that hitting a bonus doesn't necessarily mean you're about to get rich.

Then their simple kid-free casino day takes a turn: they decide they're having too much fun to drive home and grab a hotel room.

One casino trip becomes an overnight date complete with dinner, drinks, live music, dancing, complimentary breakfast and another round of gambling before the final numbers are revealed.

After starting with $400, how much did Matt and Megh actually bring home?

    And more importantly: Who won?

Listen to the end for the final bankroll and decide whether leaving a casino with a profit of any size officially counts as a win.

Stay Outta My Fridge is a food, family and comedy podcast where Matt, Megh and the crew try foods, argue about rankings, take on challenges and occasionally make questionable decisions in the name of entertainment.
