  • Yoga Meets Neuroscience: Sylvie Lahaie on Stress, Safety & Self‑Regulation
    Jan 17 2026

In this deeply grounding episode of SaraSessions, I sit down with Sylvie Lahaie — a neuroscientist turned yoga and breathwork guide — to explore how the brain and body work together to shape our emotional world. Sylvie opens up about her own burnout and the science that helped her understand it: how stress rewires the nervous system, how breath can shift brain states in real time, and why emotional regulation is less about “fixing yourself” and more about creating safety within.
Together, we dive into neurofeedback meditation, the language patterns that amplify or soothe stress, and the simple, science‑backed practices that help us return to balance. This conversation is both a hug and a masterclass — a reminder that resilience is built through challenge, healing is a biological process, and your nervous system is always trying to bring you home.

    Dec 17 2021

We all have the possibility to lean in with curiosity to conversations that help us understand our surrounding world a little better. Conservation, more specifically marine conservation has become an increasingly hot topic and big business for a multitude of reasons.

In this episode I talk to Kaelyn Maehara, Marine biologist, wildlife filmmaker, nature enthusiast and world traveler that has worked on short films and series for Netflix, Animal Planet, National Geographic, SeaShepperd conservation society and has been an active contributor to only one: A platform for stories, solutions, and community action to protect the ocean, tackle the climate crisis, and help build a more just equitable planet. She is the mind behind the acclaimed short film "By the water" winner of several prizes including best film in human development in 2019, which we talk about in the episode. She is a woman with great ideas, insights and a big heart wanting to help increase awareness of marine conservation and keeps on trying to bring light to a privileged culture by addressing the intersectionality of conservation and social issues such as the prevalence of racism, sexism, diversity and inclusion as a vocation.

Her passion seeps through as we have another wonderful authentically flowing conversation bringing to light issues that inadvertently touch every single one of us, our understanding of the documentaries, the big business around it, their unseen biases, as well as how we can educate and help heal ourselves as well as contribute to the survival of the one thing that connects us all, our precious oceans. Sit back and enjoy the session.

    Oct 30 2021

I have had the privilege to know many entrepreneurs that have started wonderful initiatives. Anne-Marie Denault is the founder of Tripura, the 1st artificial intelligence breathwork coach. An application that introduces the listener to breathwork practices through an avatar that have the capacity of changing the nervous system's response to increase, calm or help you gain the desired energy you are seeking to create within for a better morning, day or night.

Breathwork is the number one self help practice that I know can help contribute to our personal and collective healing. And it's free and at accessible to all ages and levels. It has also been proven with scientifically backed research to affect many ailments including anxiety, depression, circulation, digestive issues and so much more. With the amount of mental health and physical issues that we have encountered, specially during this pandemic, I wish this gives you a glimpse of what power and impact your breath can have for you and in turn everyone around you. I hope this session can help elevate your human experience to live a more fulfilling, energetic, productive, heart centered healing life and becomes an introduction to a practice that can become part of your daily routines.

Make sure you download the application for guidance in your journey or go to Tripurabreath.com for more information.
