  • Corey Kent | Friday Night Takeover
    Oct 9 2026

This week on the Friday Night Takeover with Rob + Holly, Corey Kent guides us through the creative journey behind his new album, Heartland Rock and Roll, now available everywhere. The “Empty Words” singer shares how taking a slower, more intentional approach to songwriting and returning to his core musical influences yielded the fastest-climbing and most successful singles of his career.

“What's funny is over the slowest process that I've ever had creating a record, the fastest results are coming from it,” shares Kent.

Corey reveals behind-the-scenes stories about key collaborations and industry relationships, including how Koe Wetzel made his way onto “Rocky Mountain Low.”

“We didn't tell managers or record labels or anybody, and we went, booked the studio ourselves, put up our own money for the song, booked the videographer, just went and cut the song, and then we turned it in and we're like, ‘hey, we did a duet together, and you guys should put this out.’”

To hear more from Corey Kent about balancing music with fatherhood, advice from Jason Aldean, and his experience hearing the album on vinyl, check out the full interview above, and on the Friday Night Takeover with Rob + Holly. Heartland Rock and Roll is now available everywhere.

  • Kenny Chesney | Friday Night Takeover
    Sep 29 2026

After working on it for 3 years, Kenny Chesney has released his new album, 'Silver Sands Marina.' The Country Music Hall of Famer joined Rob + Holly during this week’s 'Friday Night Takeover' to take them inside the album, his creative process, touring lifestyle, and much more.

Chesney dove into the making of 'Silver Sands Marina,' particularly his song "Goldfish," whose tropical and island-infused vibe inspired a Maui music video shoot right after wrapping up his high-profile residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas. "We all flew to Maui to record the ‘Goldfish’ video just because, who knows, it will probably never be on the radio, but we decided we were just gonna go have fun."

"Somebody brought... an actual fish bowl with a goldfish in it, and I held the goldfish, I held that the whole time that I was in Maui... no matter where we went, I was holding this bowl with a goldfish in it."

Kenny also shares the backstory of writing and selecting tracks for his album, highlighting songs like "Remember Me That Way," co-written by Shane McAnally and HARDY, and "It Just Got Weird," a track he saved for over five years before bringing in Megan Moroney to provide the powerful female counterpoint.

Despite decades in the music industry, Kenny maintains a youthful mindset, attributing his energy to the passion of live audiences and the constant creative pull of songwriting. "I don't know, it has a way of keeping you young, and vibrant, and creative and curious,” Chesney admits. “I think music does that, in creating it and giving it to the world. So, yeah, I hope I never really grow up."

  • Luke Bryan | Friday Night Takeover
    Sep 21 2026

Luke Bryan has a lot to celebrate lately, not only releasing his new album, 'Signs,' but also recently turning 50 years old.

“I learned that on your 50th birthday week extravaganza, if you drink like you're 20, you feel like you're 90,” he joked with Rob + Holly during the 'Friday Night Takeover.' “So that's what happened.”

Feeling better these days, Bryan is back with his 9th studio album, 'Signs,' returning with more music that feels like fun, as he thrills fans and delights internet haters.

“I've been doing music at a high level for 30 years now,” Luke says. “When I pick a song for my album, it's what I want.”

“These people are just the people that didn't listen to the advice from their parents and their teachers,” he says of those with criticism for his latest batch of tracks. “‘Hey, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all,’ right?”

Luke Bryan has built a career on being himself, which continues on 'Signs.' “I've never chased anything and got the result I wanted,” he admits. “The only thing, the only results I've ever got in my career are the ones that I was being most myself.”

  • Carly Pearce | Friday Night Takeover
    Sep 11 2026

Carly Pearce joins Rob + Holly this week for the 'Friday Night Takeover,' unpacking her new album, 'Honest Woman,' the major moments she has been able to celebrate, and her now not-so-secret relationship.

Pearce recently released her confessional new album, 'Honest Woman,' a look back to her roots in Country music and the growth she has had along the way. It comes at a time for Carly where she’s been able to accomplish some of her wildest dreams, such as selling out the Ryman, displaying outfits at the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame, and having a dress in the GRAMMY Museum. Yet the “Dream Come True” singer still hopes for more. “I'd love to win a GRAMMY one day,” she admits. “It's funny, a lot of my things have come true this year.”

One of those “things” was performing with Wynonna Judd at CMA Fest. "She was my first concert when I was 8 years old, and to know that I was about to bring her out on stage was just the biggest full circle moment."

Carly also confirmed during her talk with Rob + Holly that she is in a relationship with a real estate agent she met through mutual friends. After keeping things quiet for over a year to build a solid foundation, she made the relationship public when she kissed him upon winning 'Female Vocalist of the Year.'

“We've been together over a year or so, somewhere before that,” shares Carly. “I've just kind of kept him a slight bit quiet until I kissed him on national television.”

“I was trying to keep it quiet for a while just to like, you know, maybe do it a little different than I have in my past of actually getting to know someone.”

  • Lauren Alaina | Friday Night Takeover
    Aug 28 2026

This week for the 'Friday Night Takeover,' Lauren Alaina joins Rob + Holly to talk about her new album, 'Stages,' in which she chronicles her journey through Nashville, punctuated by the profound grief of losing her father, and the unbridled joy of having a daughter.

The album features personal tracks dedicated to her family, specifically "Babies Raising Babies," which was written about her brother and his young family, highlighting their shared history of singing in church. “They married young and had my nephew young. And they have 4 babies actually. And I wrote it about them and it's really wild because I wrote it probably 3 or 4 years ago, and then I now have my daughter," she shares.

Alaina also delves into the vulnerability required to write "Heaven Sent," the most difficult track on her record, and a song about the transformative period in her life where she lost her father and became a mother nearly simultaneously. "I mean, the two most impactful things that have ever happened in my life were becoming a mother and losing my dad, and they pretty much happened at the same time."

“I think that was the hardest song to write for the record for sure. I was still pregnant when I wrote it,” Lauren reveals. “I do miss him so much, I don't even know how to explain that loss… So my daily life changed, you know, but I have a little piece of him and it is her.”

“Genetics are so crazy because she looks at me, makes faces. I must make them obviously, but she makes faces and I'm like, ‘oh my God, it looked just like my dad. Like sometimes I'll look at her and I'm like, it blows my mind.”

For more from Lauren Alaina, check out the 'Friday Night Takeover' on your favorite Country station, or listen to the full interview above. 'Stages' is now available everywhere.
