    • EP 6 | Interview with Student-Athlete Asher Arnold
      Dec 19 2025

In Episode 6 of the Roar and Score Podcast, host Spencer Breedlove and Westminster Christian Academy’s Director of Athletics, JP Weaver (aka The Most Organized Squirrel), sit down for an inspiring conversation that celebrates leadership, perseverance, and purpose in sports.

JP kicks things off with a first-semester athletics recap, highlighting standout performances and the growing impact of the school’s L.I.O.N.S. values—Leadership, Integrity, Ownership, Nobility, and Service—across every team and program. He also shares the Quote of the Podcast:

“High character teams win championships. Success requires virtues such as self-discipline, perseverance, unselfishness, and loyalty.”

Building on that, JP reflects on lessons from coaches like Nate Oats and Greg Berge, reminding listeners that true success isn’t just about scoring points—it’s about developing great people who embrace the team above self.

The episode’s featured guest is junior student-athlete Asher Arnold—a rising leader, student ambassador, and aspiring sports journalist. Asher discusses his journey at Westminster, what it means to serve through the Lions Lead program, and how being a team captain has shaped his outlook on leadership and influence. From calling middle school basketball games to publishing stories in the Oconee Enterprise, Asher’s passion for athletics and storytelling shines throughout the conversation.

JP and Spencer wrap things up by previewing upcoming basketball matchups and looking ahead to the spring sports season, full of new goals and opportunities for the Lion community.

    • EP 4 - “There is profit in all hard work.” | Fall Sports Update
      Aug 4 2025

Episode 4 of the Roar and Score Podcast dives into the excitement of fall sports season at Westminster Christian Academy, even as summer heat lingers. Host JP highlights how official practices for volleyball, cross country, football, and cheer have kicked off, marking a new chapter of hard work and growth. The episode weaves in motivating wisdom, reminding listeners that “You build habits, daily, not in just a day,” and encourages student-athletes to embrace the tough moments in practice, as these build resilience and character. Using Proverbs 14:23, “There is profit in all hard work,” JP draws a parallel between athletic discipline—like the coach’s call to “touch the line”—and spiritual growth, emphasizing that challenges and extra effort, though uncomfortable, shape both skill and character for God’s greater purpose.

The episode also spotlights an action-packed schedule for WCA Athletics. Varsity volleyball, led by Coach Libby Ranero, opens at home on August 5, while varsity football—under Coach Chad Evans—prepares for the season opener on August 15 at Saint Mary’s Academy, with the home opener and back-to-school bash set for August 22. Varsity cross country, under Coach Whitney McMullan, begins their season August 16, and several invitational dates are approaching. Middle school teams in volleyball, football, cross country, and tennis are gearing up, alongside new feeder programs for lower schoolers. Listeners are encouraged to get involved by volunteering at events, further building the WCA community spirit. Wrapping up, co-host Spencer reminds the audience that the podcast isn’t just about creating champions on the field, but also fostering young leaders marked by the L.I.O.N.S. values—and invites families to stay engaged and keep supporting the Lion community.
