Rethinking Success is where Amy Green asks the questions that sit underneath everything else, about the stories we've inherited, the definitions we've never actually chosen, and what it would look like to build a life and a way of working that's genuinely fit for how we want to live now. This isn't a show about recovering from burnout or optimising your morning routine. It's a show for people who sense that something in the current model is fundamentally misaligned, and who are ready to think about what comes next. Bold, warm, and intellectually honest, Rethinking Success is a different kind of conversation about what it means to live and work well. Amy Green is a futurist, keynote speaker, and author of The Wellness Paradox — a book that interrogates the six paradoxes keeping us trapped in a version of success that was never designed to make us well. She is the founder of The Wellness Strategy and has spent years studying the intersection of work, life, and the systems that shape both.

What Do We Actually Mean by Workplace Conditions?

    Description

Everyone is saying workplace wellbeing comes down to the conditions, but what does that actually mean? In this solo episode, Amy Green breaks down her four lenses of feel, work, team and lead well, with a personal and a workplace version of each, so the word conditions becomes something you can build. She also explains why a wellbeing framework contextualised to your setting is where conditions start to become clear.

    In this episode, you'll explore

    • You'll explore why "it's the conditions" is everywhere right now, and why the phrase needs a proper definition.

    • You'll hear the four lenses of feel, work, team and lead well, and the personal and workplace side of each.

    • You'll explore how role clarity, workload design and a clear picture of what done looks like help people work well.

    • You'll hear why leading well means designing systems rather than adding perks.

    • You'll find out how a wellbeing framework turns conditions into something you can keep working on, not a checklist.

  • In 2027 We're Back
    Oct 19 2026

Description After a hard year, Amy Green went looking for a different kind of work, and a CEO told her she was too skilled to apply for the role. In this solo episode, she shares what that conversation showed her about intimate, bespoke work in a world built for scale, and why deciding what comes next can start with the life we want to live. It is also Amy's announcement that she is not going anywhere, with three free masterclasses to start 2027.

    In this episode:

You'll explore why saying we should be more open and actually being open are two very different things.

    • You'll hear what happened when Amy explored hybrid, in-house and portfolio work, and what a CEO said when she asked about a role.

    • You'll explore why bespoke, relationship-led work rarely fits a program designed to be repeated at scale.

    • You'll hear why decisions about work can start with the life we want to live rather than the job we hold.

    • You'll find out what is coming in 2027, beginning with three free masterclasses.

  • Why Work Shouldn't Live on Your Phone
    Oct 12 2026

Amy Green opens this episode with a warning that what she's about to suggest will make some people want to close the app in protest — and then makes the case anyway. She tells the story of 2016, when her GP suggested she leave her laptop at work, the meeting where that boundary was read as a lack of professionalism, and the fact that in all the years since, no one ever called. Her proposal is simple and, to some, unthinkable: that workplaces stop endorsing email on personal phones altogether, set clear times to check it, and flag the urgent ones so everything else can wait. Because there was a time before email lived in our pockets, and things were fine — so maybe what we created, we can uncreate.

    In this episode, you'll explore

    • You'll hear the 2016 story that started it for Amy — leaving her laptop at work on her GP's suggestion, and the meeting where that boundary was read as a lack of commitment.
    • You'll explore how having email on our phones has reshaped our evenings, weekends and sleep in ways we've stopped noticing, and what that costs us over time.
    • You'll consider Amy's actual proposal for workplaces: no email app on personal phones, set times to check it morning and evening, a shared signal for the truly urgent, and everything else on a 48-hour rule.
    • You'll sit with the reassurance Amy keeps returning to — that if something is a real emergency, someone will pick up the phone and call.
    • You'll think about Australia's right to disconnect laws as the backdrop to all of this, and why Amy believes the bigger shift is cultural, not only legal.

A few lines from this one

    • "There was a time when email didn't exist, and things were fine."
    • "It's not that urgent, people. Someone will ring you."
    • "What if workplaces said: at no point do we expect or allow email on your phone?"
    • "No one ever called me. In all those years, no one ever called."
    • "We created this, and I think we should uncreate it."
