À propos de ce contenu audio

Welcome! Here, we'll be talking to REAL PEOPLE about REAL LIFE topics from parenting, self care, and women's empowerment to other relevant issues. I began this journey by asking women what self care meant to them. Those discussions grew into inspiring, uplifting conversations that I am so happy to share. I am LaToya Thomas, a bestselling author, publisher, and certified life coach. I am also a mother, and even before that, I am a woman. Many of the interviews you'll hear are less about our professional titles and more about us being REAL PEOPLE experiencing and overcoming REAL LIFE issues.LaToya Thomas Développement personnel Réussite personnelle

    • Getting Serious About Self Care
      Jan 17 2023

Hi guys! I sat with my sister and talked about self care and its importance in our lives. While this clip comes across intense, the interview was not. We discussed different ways to practice self care most of which do not involve spending a ton of money or any at all. This is such an intense subject for me because I really don't like to see people missing out on opportunities to care for themselves simply because they feel they cannot afford to do so. If you would like a free self care checklist, I offer one here. Additionally, I have written a blog article called 5 Free Ways to Avoid Burnout that I would love to share.

    • Social Media: Is it real or fake?
      Jan 10 2023

I sat with Shavon Parker @itsnurseparker and had some of the best conversations.

We both had really good points. I would like to hear from you.

Is it real or is it fake?

Are you able to distinguish between a snapshot and real life?

A lot of people get stressed and depressed because they scroll social media looking at what looks like perfect people in perfect locations experiencing what appears to be a perfect life.   It's important to be able to understand that even your favorite celebrity, influencer, or the girl from high school is very real behind the photo. He or she experiences real life events just like you and I, and their apparent success should not make you feel inferior in any way.

Word of advice: If you begin to feel like social media causes you stress, sadness, disappointment, depression, or any ill feelings, be careful what you intake. Either curate your feeds to only follow people and pages who inspire and uplift you OR do yourself a favor and scale back. You can always limit yourself by decreasing the time you spend on social media and filling that time with something more productive. ☀️
