  • EPISODE #162: Why This London Marathon Matters: A Conversation on Health, Poverty & Running With Purpose
    Feb 9 2026

This week on RUNWITHALLI LIVE, I’m joined by David Machin, Lead Community Organizer for Health Poverty Action, the charity I’m fundraising for as I prepare to run the 2026 London Marathon.

I’ll be honest: there were things I learned in this conversation that I didn’t even know before diving into the topics David breaks down in this episode. It was eye-opening. I believe it will be for you, too.

We discuss the reality of health poverty and why it’s not a quick fix. This conversation goes beyond temporary solutions or ultra-processed “quick” foods. It’s about long-term infrastructure funding, access to healthier food options, and healthcare systems that sustainably serve communities.

David also explains why unrestricted funding is so critical. When funds aren’t tightly restricted, organizations have the flexibility to respond where needs are greatest. Something that’s especially urgent right now as government aid is being cut in ways we haven’t seen before, creating widening funding gaps across global health systems.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • The difference between health and health equity, and why that distinction matters
    • How systemic barriers, the climate crisis, and political decisions directly impact access to care
    • Why NGOs are under increasing pressure, and how resilience means continuing the work even when it feels like getting punched in the face
    • Why advocacy and holding decision-makers accountable for healthcare and funding cuts are JUST as important as fundraising

The hard truth is this: things may get worse before they get better. Health poverty is systemic and deeply rooted, leading to preventable illness, disease, and loss of life in communities with inaccessible health resources.

And yet what left me hopeful is that Health Poverty Action is doing the work anyway. They’re raising funds, building awareness, supporting community-led solutions, and continuing to show up despite immense challenges. Every single dollar goes a long way, but there is still meaningful work ahead!

This episode is a reminder that endurance athletes, and humans in general, can use their voices, platforms, and miles to help bridge gaps, elevate conversations, and push for change.

A Small Ask With Big Impact

If you’re able to donate, please know this: unrestricted funds give organizations the flexibility to act where the need is greatest. With government aid being cut and funding gaps growing, even small contributions matter more than ever. If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this episode helps amplify awareness. And that matters, too.

Whether you’re an endurance athlete, new to running, or just curious, I hope this episode inspires you, deepens your understanding of why we run, and shows how our footsteps can create real impact by supporting charities and communities that need it most.

  • EPISODE #161: Precision Fueling for Endurance Athletes with Bill Armstrong, Founder & CEO of Neversecond™
    Jan 20 2026

On today’s episode of RUNWITHALLI LIVE, I’m joined by a very special guest, Bill Armstrong, Founder & CEO of Neversecond™.

Founded in 2020, Neversecond™ has quickly become my go-to fueling brand and has firmly established itself within the endurance and high-performance running community. Neversecond™ is the official fuel sponsor for RunWithAlli Coaching, and I truly believe this product can change the way endurance athletes approach fueling for marathons and beyond. Especially for those pursuing competitive performance for the long haul.

Before discovering Neversecond™, I was genuinely frustrated with fueling. After years of high-volume training and racing, I had tried countless products that caused GI distress, felt inconsistent, or simply didn’t meet the demands of endurance sport. That all changed when a friend in San Diego introduced me to Neversecond™. From the very first trial, the approach clicked. Precision, simplicity, and science-backed execution. I immediately knew this was the kind of fueling system serious endurance athletes need, and the kind I wanted our athletes using.

In this episode, Bill and I dive into the evolution of the Neversecond™ brand and the philosophy behind it. We talk about how Neversecond™ supports endurance and high-performance athletes, what truly sets the brand apart from other fueling companies, how runners can practically apply these products in both training and racing, how to build community around fueling, and so much more.

    Questions we cover include:

    • How did Neversecond™ come to life, and what gap in the endurance fueling space were you trying to solve?
    • What backgrounds did each of you bring to building the brand, science, sport, business, or all of the above?
    • Neversecond™ is known for precision fueling. What does that mean in practical terms for endurance athletes?
    • Can you explain the science behind products like the C30 gel in a way runners can immediately apply?
    • How early in a training cycle should athletes start practicing race fueling?
    • For someone training for their first marathon, what’s a simple Neversecond™ fueling framework to follow?
    • What lessons from elite sport translate best to everyday endurance runners?
    • If athletes could follow just one fueling principle, what should it be?
    • How do you decide which stores carry your product?
    • Why did you say YES to being on the RUNWITHALLI LIVE Podcast?

Whether you’re an endurance athlete, an aspiring runner, or simply curious about the space, I hope this episode leaves you feeling inspired, better educated on fueling for running, and more aware of the endurance fueling landscape, and how Neversecond™ can support your athletic and endurance goals!

  • EPISODE #155: Rooted in Change: Delphine Sellars’ Vision for Agriculture, Equity & Urban Empowerment
    Sep 14 2025

In this episode of RUNWITHALLI LIVE, I sit down with Delphine Godley Sellars, co-founder of Urban Community AgriNomics (UCAN). Just like we runners know the importance of fueling well and respecting the process, Delphine’s work is all about transforming food access, environmental justice, and community resilience in Northern Durham.

We talk about how a vision of healthy food, soil justice, and youth empowerment led Delphine and her sister Lucille to launch a nonprofit that’s already donated over 100,000 lbs of fresh produce, restored heritage land, and built bridges across generations through education.

I loved my conversation with Delphine Sellars about the parallels between UCAN’s mission of harvesting food and a runner’s journey. UCAN empowers communities to be less reliant on the outside world—just like running teaches us to discover the world one step at a time. We may not be gathering food on our runs, but we’re harvesting something different: lessons, resilience, and a deeper connection to nature, step by step, minute by minute, mile by mile.

Please tune in and get inspired by a grassroots leader who’s cultivating impact the same way we build fitness: one step, one seed, one act at a time!
