 Prayer: God’s Word Requires Action is a morning devotional rooted in James 1:22–25 (NLT), with special focus on verse 22: hearing God’s Word is not enough—we must put it into action. Scripture warns that when we listen without obeying, we are only fooling ourselves. Being a believer is more than acknowledging that God exists; it means allowing what God says to shape how we live, how we respond, and what we do. Faith requires movement. Even when Scripture tells us to “be still,” that does not mean becoming inactive while waiting for God to move. There are seasons when being still means preparing, learning, growing, praying, and positioning ourselves for what God has already spoken. God gives direction, and through His Spirit we receive the wisdom and understanding necessary to respond. We cannot pray for change while refusing to move when God gives instruction. Prayer is powerful, but prayer must be accompanied by obedience. God’s Word requires action.
