The Somatic Side of Challenging Cases: Episode: Exploring Somatic Healing and Challenging Cases

In this week’s episode, we open a raw and honest conversation about what it really takes to work with complex pelvic pain cases, especially the clients who have “tried everything” and are still suffering.

We explore the art of slowing down, listening deeper than the symptom, and meeting the nervous system with curiosity instead of force. Through our own experiences in the clinic, we share how somatic work, emotional processing, and energetic attunement have become essential pieces of the healing puzzle.

This episode is for the pelvic health providers who feel the emotional toll of holding these cases, who want to understand the body beyond biomechanics, and who are ready to practice in a way that honors the whole human in front of them.

    In this episode we explore:

The hidden challenges in pelvic floor therapy and why traditional approaches often fall short for chronic or complex cases

How to approach “the stuck clients” who have seen multiple providers and still feel lost

The importance of somatics, presence, and nervous system work in unwinding long-held pain

Emotional and energetic layers of chronic pain, and how to safely support clients through them

Trust, rapport, and patient history, and how these shape the pacing and direction of care

Blending intuition with clinical reasoning, and why inner listening is a skill every PT can cultivate

Why slowing down often creates more change, not less

The emotional load on providers, and how to care for yourself while holding others
