  • S2E20: Fish Camp 101
    May 21 2026

This episode of On Air with Student Affairs, host Elizabeth Drake sits down with student Fish Camp directors Adrian, Adam and Marisa to ask the question — why Fish Camp?

Fish Camp is an extended orientation program that welcomes incoming freshman to Texas A&M. A loved Aggie tradition designed to help new students take down any nervous barriers about starting college, Fish Camp’s goal is to ease the transition into life in Aggieland.

Over the course of three days the summer before fall semester, campers find themselves letting their guard down in an experience like no other to learn about traditions, core values and campus resources available to them at Texas A&M. Before the three days is up, new students make lasting connections and friendships that extend well-beyond their time at Fish Camp.

This conversation covers what attending Fish Camp is really like and as Adrian, Adam and Marissa put it — there is something at Fish Camp for everyone!

  • S2E19: Aggies Are Never Alone: Mental Health with Student Assistance Services
    May 7 2026

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and this episode, we're here to remind you that no Aggie has to struggle alone. There is a network of support and care here at Texas A&M.

Host Elizabeth Drake sits down with the Student Assistance Services (SAS) team inside Texas A&M's Student Life for an honest conversation about the mental health challenges college students face and the resources that exist to help them through it.

SAS serves as a landing place for Aggies who may need a hand up, but aren't sure where to turn. Think of them as problem solvers who help make a university of 80,000 feel a little smaller, whether you're dealing with financial stress, relationship struggles, academic overwhelm, or something you can't quite put into words yet.

The team breaks down the real signs that it might be time to reach out, tackles the stigma that keeps too many students suffering in silence, and explains what actually happens when you walk through their door for the first time & more.

It's okay to not be okay, and SAS is here to help you figure out the next step.

Want to reach SAS? Visit Suite 209 in the Student Services Building, call (979) 845-3113, email studentlife@tamu.edu, or submit a Tell Somebody report at tellsomebody.tamu.edu.
