This week, the boys will be exploring a pair of 80s action franchise revivals from the year 2019, Rambo: Last Blood starring Sylvester Stallone and Terminator: Dark Fate starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

With some help from local filmmaker John Yost, they’ll take a look at the talent involved in each film, before diving into the various attempts and countless failures these films went through in trying to modernize these stories that were conceived in the 80s.

The boys are joined by Albany based comedian Bri Morrison to analyze a pair of rom-coms that are all about the quest to hook up without catching feelings. Of course, because this is a rom-com, that quest is ultimately a failure, but will our movie couples learn some things about themselves in the process and potentially find everlasting happiness, whatever the hell that means.

This week’s pair of Twin Films are the 2011 romantic comedies, Friends With Benefits starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and No Strings Attached starring Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman.

After a spirited discussion about the couples’ romantic chemistry (or lack thereof) [9:58], the boys and Bri discuss all the standard tropes that we all know and love from romantic comedies: there’s the meet-cutes [32:24], the sex montage [46:39], the break-up [53:20], and finally the reconciliation and the all-important rom-com speech [1:01:44].
