Emer sat down with our ECollective members to help tease out your biggest concerns about the current state of our oceans and marines and talk about any ideas on how we can begin undoing the damage done.
In this episode, you’ll learn, what the term ‘Global Warming’ actually means, the marine animals who are most at risk of extinction and most importantly what we can begin doing to help save our oceans.
EMER KEAVENEY
Marine scientist and co-founder of Ocean Research & Conservation Association Ireland (ORCAIreland) - a "for impact” organisation dedicated to monitoring and minimising disturbance to marine wildlife through innovation, technology, and education.
Emer is an experienced ecologist who has been involved in marine research for over a decade, with a diverse array of knowledge from working within both academia and industry. Her expertise ranges from field-based skills; such as marine mammal mitigation and seabird surveying to desk-based statistical analytics and mapping. Also as a professional Marine Mammal Observer (MMO) working with Offshore Renewable Wind Energy projects in Irish waters.
