À propos de ce contenu audio

No Context Cinema Club is a comedy film podcast where famous movies are rewritten from scratch, without ever being watched.

Each episode, one host attempts a full movie rewrite based purely on the title, armed with only vague clues and zero context. What follows is a completely improvised story that often spirals into something wildly different from the original film.

Blending comedy podcast chaos with funny film critique, film discussion and creative storytelling, every episode ends with the rewrite being scored for coherence, entertainment and originality.

The results feed into a live leaderboard where listeners can vote and decide which movie rewrites deserve to rise to the top, and which should be forgotten entirely.

If you enjoy comedy podcasts, movie podcasts, movie rewrites, and fun film discussions with a completely original twist, No Context Cinema Club delivers something genuinely different.

  • Rain Man reimagined - I think he's good at ping pong, but that's not important (ep. 40)
    Oct 31 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

What if Rain Man wasn’t about two brothers on a life-changing road trip… but the man secretly controlling the weather inside The Truman Show?

In this episode of No Context Cinema Club – a comedy film podcast and movie rewrite podcast – Rob rewrites Rain Man as a behind-the-scenes Truman Show spin-off, following the technician responsible for every ray of sunshine, downpour and storm in Truman Burbank’s artificial world.

Paul Giamatti stars as Simeon, the production’s weather technician. He has spent years watching Truman grow up from behind the scenes, quietly adjusting the weather and convincing himself that staying inside the system means he can at least make Truman’s life slightly easier.

Then he discovers the production’s contingency plan.

If Truman ever attempts to escape by sea, the crew will create an artificial storm designed to frighten him into turning back.

    And if he refuses?

    The plan becomes considerably darker.

    Expect:

    • Paul Giamatti controlling the weather from behind the scenes of The Truman Show

    • Jim Carrey returning as Truman Burbank

    • Rainstorms deliberately arriving at exactly the wrong moment

    • Weather glitches designed to make Truman question his reality

    • Messages hidden in an artificial sky

    • Attempts to smuggle outsiders into Truman’s carefully controlled world

    • A casino boat somehow becoming relevant to Rain Man

    • An increasingly dangerous battle between one technician and an entire television production

    • Kev becoming unexpectedly invested in one of Rob’s film pitches

After the rewrite is locked in, Kev scores the film for coherence, entertainment and originality, feeding into the show’s live leaderboard – and this time, something unusual happens.

If you enjoy movie podcasts, comedy podcasts, film podcasts, The Truman Show, Jim Carrey, Paul Giamatti, movie rewrites, alternative movie universes and completely unnecessary spin-offs treated with absolute seriousness, this episode attempts to explain what was really happening behind the weather controls.

Has Rob somehow created a genuinely convincing Truman Show spin-off… or has he just attached Rain Man to one of the few films he actually knows?

  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind reimagined - you're complaining about the thickness of the paper (ep. 39)
    Oct 24 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

What if Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind wasn’t about erasing painful memories of lost love… but a devoted pastor whose obsession with saving souls transforms him into a religious serial killer?

In this episode of No Context Cinema Club – a comedy film podcast and movie rewrite podcast – Rob rewrites Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as a dark psychological thriller starring Ben Shephard as a troubled pastor, with Kate Winslet making an unfortunate appearance.

The film begins in a quiet American church, where an ageing pastor questions his faith and asks God for guidance. Having dedicated his life to helping the dying confess their sins and enter heaven with a clear conscience, he’s beginning to wonder whether his actions are truly righteous.

As forgiveness gives way to punishment, the pastor begins deciding who deserves salvation, leaving behind an increasingly disturbing collection of funeral orders of service.

    Expect:

    • Ben Shephard playing a deeply troubled American pastor with a questionable understanding of Christianity
    • A biblical passage that becomes the justification for increasingly horrifying decisions
    • Kate Winslet making a brief but deeply unfortunate appearance
    • A religious psychological thriller exploring guilt, forgiveness, morality and madness
    • A bookshelf full of funeral orders of service charting one man’s descent into serial murder
    • Kev questioning the physical thickness of folded paper rather than appreciating Rob’s cinematic storytelling
    • A dark tale of divine justice, obsession and the terrifying consequences of believing you’re doing God’s work

After the rewrite is locked in, Kev scores the film for coherence, entertainment and originality, feeding into the show’s live leaderboard. Rob is convinced he’s finally developed some sophisticated visual storytelling techniques, while Kev remains considerably less impressed.

If you enjoy movie podcasts, comedy podcasts, psychological thrillers, serial killer mysteries, religious horror, moral dilemmas, dark humour and completely ridiculous film pitches treated with absolute seriousness, this episode transforms the Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet romantic sci-fi drama Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind into a disturbing tale of faith, forgiveness and murder.

Has Rob finally created a clever psychological thriller about the dangerous boundaries between salvation and obsession… or has he simply invented a murderous Ben Shephard and become far too emotionally invested in a bookshelf

  • Bicentennial Man reimagined - in da bungalow (ep. 38)
    Oct 17 2026

    Send us Fan Mail

What if Bicentennial Man wasn’t about a robot trying to become human… but two identical twins born in different centuries, who's bitter rivalry becomes a deadly psychological thriller?

In this episode of No Context Cinema Club – a comedy film podcast and movie rewrite podcast – Rob rewrites Bicentennial Man as a dark mystery thriller starring Robbie Williams as two estranged brothers, with Sam Neill making an appearance as a doctor.

The film begins on New Year’s Eve, 31st December 2000, when identical twins are born just minutes apart. One arrives before midnight, the other just after, making them brothers born in two different centuries.

Their extraordinary birth makes headlines, turning Richard and Dominic into minor celebrities before they can even walk.

But as they grow older, their attitudes towards fame couldn't be more different..

Decades later, when one twin decides to reconnect with his estranged twin, a seemingly simple reunion sets off a disturbing chain of events involving jealousy, violence and a terrifying question of identity.

    Expect:

    • Robbie Williams playing two identical brothers with very different lives
    • A bitter sibling rivalry fuelled by jealousy, resentment and delusions of fame
    • An unnecessary Dick and Dom sub plot
    • A violent confrontation in a thoroughly depressing bungalow
    • A mysterious car accident, memory loss and a family beginning to suspect something isn't right
    • Sam Neill as a doctor trying to explain some deeply unsettling personality changes
    • A psychological mystery where even the audience might not know which brother is which

After the rewrite is locked in, Kev scores the film for coherence, entertainment and originality, feeding into the show's live leaderboard.

If you enjoy movie podcasts, comedy podcasts, psychological thrillers, mystery films, identity swaps, unreliable narrators, sibling rivalries and completely ridiculous film pitches treated with absolute seriousness, this episode transforms the Robin Williams sci-fi drama Bicentennial Man into a dark, twisted tale of family, obsession and mistaken identity.

Has Rob finally created a genuinely compelling psychological thriller worthy of the big screen… or just found an elaborate excuse to cast Robbie Williams twice and make Kev endure another bungalow?
