  • 40 Years Making People Beautiful. Her Superpower Has Nothing to Do With Looks | Gina Conway
    Oct 7 2026

Gina Conway, multi-award-winning salon owner, sustainability ambassador, and founder of Gina Conway Aveda Salons & Spas in London, joins Dr. Tara Perry to explore what 38 years behind the salon chair has taught her about beauty, confidence, and the human need to be truly seen. Gina grew up in Lake Tahoe, built her salon business from the ground up in London, and — when menopause brought her to her knees at 51 — reinvented her entire approach to wellness.

This conversation starts with hair and ends somewhere much deeper: what it means to find the flame in every person, and why the most powerful thing you can offer another human being is your full, undivided attention.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

04:50 Gina listens with all her senses — not just her ears — and describes it as a full-body experience with every client.
05:35 What people are really seeking when they sit in a salon chair isn't a haircut. It's confidence and the experience of their inner light being brought out.
07:02 Gina built her business around a "guest journey" — replacing the word "client" with "guest" and redesigning every single touchpoint around positive energy and love.
09:28 At 51, menopause brought Gina to a breaking point — she was resting her head on the dinner table every night, too exhausted to be present with her family or her hundred employees.
14:01 Gina tracks beauty the way others track problems — deliberately following what delights her and lights her up, which has shaped every area of her life and work.
19:45 The first 30 seconds of a guest consultation are everything: connection, rapport, and trust — always eye to eye, never through a mirror.
21:20 People use their hair as armor — to hide, to disappear, to project strength. A hairdresser who understands that is doing something closer to therapy.
24:09 Gina's wellness ritual begins every appointment: 32 essential oils, three deep cleansing breaths, and a full head, neck, and shoulders massage done with deliberate healing intention.
31:40 Beauty is in everybody — not just the 3%. Gina says she would love the opportunity to help anyone who doesn't feel beautiful see what she already sees in them.
32:23 Attractiveness has nothing to do with how you look. Sexy is a state of mind — it's how you hold yourself, how you play, how you express.

  • Your Intuition Is Talking. Here’s Why You Aren't Hearing It | Julie Ryan
    Sep 30 2026

What if the answers you’ve been searching for… you already know?

What if your intuition has been talking to you all along—and you’ve simply learned not to hear it?

Medical intuitive Julie Ryan joins Dr. Tara Perry for a fascinating conversation about intuition, healing, and what may be possible when we start listening.
    KEY TAKEAWAYS

05:10 Julie raises her vibrational level to the frequency of spirit and watches a hologram of the body in her mind's eye — like an X-ray — to identify what needs healing.
10:15 Nobody ever heals anybody else. Healers facilitate the process, but the body always heals itself.
13:03 If you receive information that feels negative or abusive during spiritual practice, that's your brain — not spirit. Spirit is pure love.
15:59 Energetic healing happens instantly on the spiritual level, then integrates into the physical body — sometimes immediately, sometimes over days or weeks.
22:00 Everyone is already intuitive. Thinking of someone right before they call you? That's your intuition at work.
22:27 Julie's daily routine: legs-up-the-wall meditation, the rosary, and two minutes standing in the superwoman pose facing the sun.
26:43 We all come in with the same spiritual hardware. Children are naturally psychic until adults teach them not to trust it.
33:34 The faces people see during meditation are the multitudes of spirits that surround us always — ask them if they have a message.
40:43 The biggest way we get in our own way is using logic to override what spirit is already telling us. The antidote: ask "what if?" and take one step.
38:00 University research now shows that 90% of people at the end of life see and communicate with deceased loved ones and pets. Nobody dies alone.

  • Lost Her Mother at 8. Buried the Pain. One Word Finally Broke It Open | Pegotty Cooper
    Sep 23 2026

Dr. Pegotty Cooper, co-founder of the Certified Divorce Coach Program and a Supreme Court of Florida-certified family mediator, joins Dr. Tara Perry to share a story she says she almost never tells: the night a man broke into her home in pitch-black darkness, pinned her to her bed, and called her by name. It's not just a home-invasion story — it's proof of what three years of deliberate practice in emotional validation can do when a life is actually on the line.

Pegotty breaks down affect labeling from the neuroscience up — why naming someone's emotion shuts down their threat response faster than reasoning ever could, why she's watched it change outcomes in courtrooms and prisons alike, and how burying her own grief at age eight taught her, decades later, exactly what silence costs.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

02:33 A man she thought was her cat turned out to be an intruder pinning her to her bed in a pitch-black room. He said only four words the entire encounter: "No, Peg, don't" — and knowing her name terrified her more than anything else.

05:37 Instead of fighting or freezing, she started talking: "You're such a kind person. You're an honorable member of society. Why would you want to be doing this?" With every validating phrase, she felt the energy drain out of his hands until he sighed, got up, and walked out.

08:32 Three days later, she learned her neighbor across the street had gone into a cornfield and shot himself. She believes he was the intruder — and chose never to seek confirmation rather than reopen the wound for his widow.

13:39 A darker counter-example: her sister was murdered by a neighbor's son after she'd once told him he "made her feel uncomfortable." He carried that single remark, stacked on a lifetime of his own unaddressed trauma, into a decision that ended her life.

21:17 What affect labeling actually is: naming what someone is feeling back to them ("you're angry," "you're feeling unsupported") using a "you" statement — not to agree or fix anything, just to be heard.

22:33 The neuroscience: when a person is emotionally escalated, their prefrontal cortex — the slow, rational part of the brain — disconnects. Naming the emotion out loud reconnects it, letting them think clearly again instead of just reacting.

24:05 Prison recidivism rates dropped significantly once inmates were taught affect labeling to use with each other — proof that the technique works even in the highest-stakes, highest-conflict environments.

27:05 Why affect labeling outperforms the classic advice to use "I" statements: "I" statements can't be refuted, but they don't lend the escalated person your own calm, functioning prefrontal cortex the way naming their emotion does.

32:26 Her mother died when Pegotty was eight and a half; the family's rule was "life is for the living" — no mourning, no discussion. She spent decades believing she simply didn't have emotions like other people.

38:13 The word that finally broke her open: at a Landmark Education event, hearing another woman say "abandoned" hit her like a fist to the chest. She'd spent 40 years avoiding that exact word — until she finally let herself feel it, held for two minutes by a stranger.

44:38 A divorce attorney once called one of Pegotty's trained coaches mid-trial, desperate, because his client was performing so badly on the stand she was about to lose her children. One unscripted phone call of pure validation later, the attorney called back and said, "I don't know what you did, but I'm in."
