Or maybe he does. Either way, his body moves before his brain realizes what he’s doing, and Remus leans across the way, stretching his arm out, and knocks the fruit clean out of Sirius’ hand. It hits the ground with a soft thud, wobbling against the edge of the blanket, then slowly succumbing to the pull of gravity and tumbling down the gentle slope of the hill right towards the edge of the lake. Sirius’ eyes follow it for all of a second before snapping back to Remus’ face, indignation written in the frown of his lips and the pinch of his brows. A pendulous second passes. Two. Three. They both blink at each other, eyes owlish, dumbfounded.
